Beautiful cottage in a picturesque setting

A beautiful little cottage, incredibly cozy and warm inside and fantastic access to the hills and local hiking trails. Kate, the host, was very communicative and helpful at all times and provided some excellent recommendations for places to eat. The bed was extremely comfortable and the place was spotless and peaceful. Highly recommended!

Beautiful cute cottage, everything you needed was supplied. Great communication from owner. Comfy bed. Fabulous balcony overlooking the River.

Parking was challenging, very tight, vans parked made it difficult to turn etc. Inconsiderate people parking on lane entrance and opposite lane again making it difficult to manoeuvre.

Lovely quirky mill cottage with a balcony overlooking an old mill stream, ideal for a weekend stay.

Lovely quirky little mill cottage, close to the wedding venue we were attending. Clean, comfy, had all we needed for a weekend visit. The owner was really good at communicating both before the visit and while we settled in.

Great to have a parking spot in an area which is very tight on parking spaces but I would advise not taking a large car as you really need to be good at reversing into small spaces. We have Skoda Octavia which was fine but would really struggle with anything bigger.

Fantastic cottage Location was perfect for a wedding at Holmfirth Vineyard Kate was the perfect host And was very generous in allowing us an early check in a late check out. Very much appreciated as well as the breakfast provisions.

A fabulous stay - one of the nicest places I’ve stayed in a long time!

Exceptionally clean, well equipped, comfortable beds, fantastic riverside location with lovely balcony, peaceful, fabulous walks on the doorstep, a lovely pub within walking distance, and a really warm welcome from our host. What’s not to like?????

Wonderful weekend trip

The cottage is perfect! Stunning clean and such a beautiful spot! The river at the back of the property provided a tranquil setting and wonderful to relax on the balcony and watch nature at its finest!. Kate made us feel so welcome and left us a lovely treat we will 100% be back!

Very clean, very tasteful decor. Finishing touches such as the bubble bath and bird watching book were much appreciated. Welcome food was lovely, especially the fresh laid eggs. The terrace was lovely, birdwatching over the water behind the cottage was delightful. Accommodation is perfect as it is.

Kate was really helpful and we had a lovely phone chat upon arrival with plenty of suggestions for where to eat and places to walk our dog. The property was really cosy and the log burner made our evening. Sadly we had to leave early due to a family emergency but we will definitely be booking here again. Lovely place and very friendly/helpful host.

A special place to enjoy all that Holmfirth has to offer

Everything you could want for a home away from home. Located in a quiet area alongside a river and with lots of personal flourishes to elevate it above the standard. It was lovely to enjoy my breakfast on the balcony each morning and see the ducks wading happily below me. Lovely country walks were within easy reach and the host was really helpful and caring.

The cottage is full of character, beautifully decorated with obvious attention to detail and care. Spotless and very comfortable. The balcony is beautiful, very relaxing to sit with a book, also feeding the ducks was a big hit! Kate, our host, was so welcoming and gave great tips for places to visit. The location is brilliant, we didn’t want to leave!

Cosy, quiet cottage in a lovely location. Didn't need to take much as so much provided, including milk, bread and marmalade!

Being overly critical; the double bedroom was a little small (very little room down the sides of the bed, no wardrobe although there was some storage space) and tight parking space.

Our second time at this property. Location is superb; river beside balcony with ducks and fish to feed, and interesting walks with dog both locally and further afield. Cottage is comfortable. Good quality local restaurants and pubs within walking distance. Host Kate is a mine of local information if required.
