Royal Residence Apartments in the Heart of Prague

A large and well appointed apartment that had everything needed to make a comfortable stay. The flat is set back from the road so is quiet and safe and the reception is manned 24 hours so easy to pick up keys. The location is good for walking access to the key attractions, but also far enough from the business of the main tourist areas.

The host was very friendly and answered any questions we had as soon as he could. When there was a little issue with the door he even hurried over to make sure we could enter the apartment. The place was nice and clean and all of the facilities that were present, such as the tv, refrigerator and shower worked well without any trouble. There was a small kitchen that we didn’t really use, but there were some basic items to cook with as in spices etc. which is a very nice touch for those who would like to cook. The couch was super comfortable, perfect for watching tv and definitely large enough for two. Another very positive thing is that the host was willing to move the check in and check out times a little to better accommodate our stay, something we really appreciated.

Most of the things we didn’t like were only small things that can easily be fixed with a little effort. Firstly, the bathroom was missing a small bin and a toiletpaper holder, which was a little inconvenient since it meant our ‘waste’ had to be taken to the kitchen and the toiletpaper roll had to be put behind us on the ledge or squeezed in the dryer rack in front of us. Secondly, the window blinds were a little sad. The plissé blinds were held up with paperclips or another type of clip which made it a bit of a nuisance to put the blinds back up once they were let down. In general the curtain solution simply looked a bit cheap as if it was only put there because it’s expected to have curtains. Of course, they needn’t be super fancy but at least the option that is provided should work well. Another small thing is that the toilet was missing a lid, not a problem at all, but it’s a little more hygienic to be able to close it before flushing and it could also serve as a ‘table’ for your towels and clothes when taking a shower. This is of course not a real issue, just a tip. Something a little bigger is the fact that the bathroom looked a little beaten. The facilities were great and clean but scratch marks and gaps in the plaster made it seem a lot less nice than it was or could be. A new lick of paint and the filling of gaps would really do wonders. Lastly, but this is very personal, is that the mattress was too hard for us and the pillows too big and thin to give support. A tip I could give here is to add one smaller and more firm or thicker pillow to each side of the bed, so guests can choose which they might prefer to sleep on. All in all we were definitely happy with our stay and the very nice host, but for the price one would expect it to be tip top. Naturally, I hope the host sees this as an opportunity to bring his property to its full potential so that the many people that might come after us can enjoy it all the much more.

Good and central location, clean and comfortable apartment, efficient and friendly communication with both, the host and the 24 hour receptionists. Good value for money and very happy to recommend.

we missed the oven , and it was very light in the morning in the room so mabey some curtains would be nice to make the room a bit darker … for the rest the studio is perfect , it was very warm in the studio
