Excellent service and stay in the Lacandón jungle region of Chiapas, Mexico. People are very nice and helpful, they take you around, suggest or equip with a local guide for both Bonampak and Yaxchilan. You feel safe , welcome and well attended all through your stay. Food is good, all offered in the common area/ restaurant where you can mingle with other people. I appreciated that they do their best to have an environmental friendly place, offering sustainable tourism and look after the environment and their culture as much as possible. The bungalows are very cosy and safe (from animals and insects) with double mosquito nets, which made us feel safe.
Nothing really, but being in the middle of the jungle is not for everyone; here, you feel and hear nature all around you intensely.

Topche is in a beautiful location and the huts and surroundings are kept very well. The Chanuk family are lovey hosts giving a very happy fee to the place. It’s a perfect base to visit Yaxchilán and Bonampak, swim in the waterfalls and walk in the selva.
A few hooks and hangers in the cabañas would be useful.

It was nice to be received initially by a kind family in a local rural setting.
We cannot say it was a scam, but it is quite strange to be explained what you can expect when visiting Bonampak, to see your host a couple of minute later waiting for you at the park entrance to drive you to Bonampak. Not for free of course (we paid 400 pesos for three persons, to and back). We took a guide (a friend of the host) for an additional 300 pesos for one hour, which is not particularly cheap. We wanted to visit Yaxchillan afterwards and we were not amused by our 'escort', yes indeed, our host. In Frontera Corozal, a 45 minute drive and the starting point for the boat trip to Yaxchillan, they wanted to introduce us to another friend of them. We just ignored them and drove on to another place. It felt very unpleasant to be accompanied in this manner. A remark about the food: Most of it was mediocre, but relatively pricy. All in all it was, with a not so big cabana for 1700 pesos, not much value for your money. Our suggestion would be to stay in Frontera Corozal and visit Bonampak from there. That's a pity, because we were really interested in staying in a local Lacandon community and the place has the ingredients to make it a special place to stay. In one word, it was just too commercial.
