Medieval house, excellent location in Cluny in the old city and in a quiet street

Medieval house, excellent location in Cluny in the old city and in a quiet street (I was there in May). Welcoming host, readily available for questions or resolution of issues. Nicole is passionate about Cluny, its history and current cultural development activities. Great stone floor, nice old walls and beamed ceiling. Bathroom with spacious shower, hot/cold water running well.

The front door lock didn't work properly. And on one occasion, the owner even had to come and help me open the door because I was stuck inside. Interior of the apartment loaded with many things, making the atmosphere a little heavy.

Great for location, but comfort and smell could be improved.

The location is very central. It has all the necessary appliances to spend a few nights there and explore the city.

We found the foldaway bed very uncomfortable. The extra mattress in its original plastic packaging is so loud when you turn on it, we all woke up every time. The flat smells quite strongly of mold, which we found a concern, especially with a child.

A bit too dark and damp inside; door and windows open straight into the street, felt a bit awkward to leave it open during the night.

A treasure

This apartment is a treasure. Nicole couldn't have been more welcoming. It was a little difficult to find but that was because there was a market going on which confused the satnav. Once you've found it, it's dead easy. The apartment itself is charming with a mix of features, the best of which is a historic fireplace. Everything is immaculately clean. The kitchenette and counter are convenient and every facility you can think of is to hand. Carrefour supermarket a short walk up the road. Boulangerie and Boucherie/charcouterie just down the road and the Abbey is just around the corner. I slept wonderfully. Compact bathroom had immediate and plentiful hot water. The best thing about the place is your wonderful hostess, Nicole, who is keen to make your stay memorable. When I arrived she pointed out that that there was going to be a fête du quartier (street party) the following day. It was an absolute treat. The community was so welcoming. I felt sad that my stay was so short. I would happily go back!

Notre hôte était très accueillante et arrangeante. Le gîte est agréable et très très bien situé pour visiter Cluny. Des parkings tout prêt permettent de facilement déposer les valises, visiter les alentours, etc. Je recommande.
