Hostal Boutique Casa La Barca

Location was perfect--very quiet, very safe, in a residential area, and very walkable, near a huge number of great restaurants and little shops in the Barrio Italia. Sweet and charming vintage house with a sitting room decorated in an old-fashioned style. Breakfast was basic, but good and varied. Host will make strong coffee if you ask. Cute kitchen/ breakfast area and nice place to meet other guests. Upstairs had another kitchen for use during the day for tea and to store leftovers. Rooms were cozy, warm and bright, and beds very comfortable. Host was so accommodating, calling museums for us to see if they were open (there was a bad storm when we were there), giving us great tips on what to do in the city, very nice and friendly and so helpful!

Drainage in one of the showers was not great, so had to be careful that water did not overflow. Although the bedrooms were absolutely toasty warm, sometimes the common areas were quite cold, so not good for hanging out during winter months.

Excelente todo. Me quedé una semana en Casa La Barca y lo súper recomiendo. Las habitaciones son súper cómodas, el desayuno riquísimo y está todo recién hecho por Pamela, la mejor anfitriona de la historia. La casa es muy acogedora, todo está limpio y ordenado. El personal es muy amable. En la sala hay una exposición de pintura de artistas locales que se renueva cada mes. Conocí a personas de todo el mundo durante mi estadía. La ubicación es excelente, muy bien conectada con el metro, la zona segura para caminar. Cerca de restaurantes y cafés buenos. Ya quiero volver!

Great location within walking distance to many bars and restaurants. Safe neighborhood, easy street parking, very cute and cozy inside. The breakfast was wonderful and through and through we were so well accommodated here. Cannot recommend highly enough!

The entire property is absolutely gorgeous and the pics on here really don't do it justice. The historic architecture is incredible. Our room was very spacious and had really tall ceilings (and 2 sinks/showers!!). The staff was super accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed to explore Santiago comfortably (they provided recommendations and were super nice about us leaving our luggage when we had a late flight). The breakfast is the best I've ever had at any hotel. We were able to walk to a bunch of parks, pharmacies/grocery stores, and excellent restaurants very easily.
