I am writing to formally complain about what can only be described as a shocking and unacceptable failure on the part of White Cross Holiday Park during our recent stay.
From the outset, we were subjected to repeated power cuts over several days, leaving us without lighting or heating. This alone is unacceptable, but matters were made significantly worse by the complete lack of communication, support, or contingency planning from your team. The lodge itself was clearly not cleaned to any reasonable standard prior to our arrival. Cobwebs were present throughout, carpets were covered in crumbs left by previous guests, and the showers were filthy, containing visible pubic hair. This level of cleanliness is indefensible and wholly inappropriate for paid accommodation. The situation escalated further when the New Year’s Eve party was cancelled without any prior notice whatsoever. We only discovered this after arriving at the clubhouse, which was in complete darkness. No staff were present, no explanation was offered, and no attempt was made to notify guests in advance. As a result, we were left with no Wi-Fi, intermittent power, and no opportunity to make alternative arrangements, rendering all tickets we had purchased for the event entirely wasted. The pool facilities posed a serious safety concern. The water and changing areas were freezing cold, and the lights repeatedly went out, leaving us in complete darkness after changing. This is not merely inconvenient—it is dangerous, particularly for families with young children.Despite the ongoing power failures, the amusement machines remained operational, yet every power flicker caused us to lose money as payments were taken but not registered. This felt careless at best and exploitative at worst.
What is most disturbing is the apparent abandonment of guests across the site. There was no visible staff presence, no reassurance, and no meaningful attempt to manage what was clearly a widespread and ongoing issue.

The property was very clean and spacious for 5 people and main bedroom even had an wmsuite bathroom.
The main double bed mattress needs changing - it dips in the middle and could be more solid. Also all pillows are very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on.

Everything good, no problems with the property at all.
The internet access was absolutely useless. The owner should invest in something better. 3 tvs in the home and nothing to watch on them.

The accommodation is absolutely beyond expectations. A perfect place for holidays and kids love this holiday park very much. A perfect place for family who love to cook.
The fridge is not cold enough in that lodge we stayed.

Large, airy, roomy, clean.
Well equipt kitchen, including dishwasher.
Great value for money.
Plenty space for 3 adults & 2 kids.
Good power shower.
Within 25 min drive of Coniston and Rydal, also obviously directly next to Windermere/Ambleside.
Large, fully enclosed outdoor terrace, safe for kids to play unattended.
Unhelpful reception staff.
No sun on the terrace.
Lounge/kitchen diner very cold in the mornings; could do with some throw blankets.
Swimming on site for 2 adults and 2 kids was £30 for 45 minutes and the pool depth range was only 1.1m to 1.4m.

Lovely location, spatious property
Impossible to get to walk by the lake - apart from the marina, which was closed off, the whole compound is surrounded by fence - can’t go walking beside the lake at all.
