Green Ghyll

We had a really enjoyable stay at Green Ghyll. The house is very spacious, with a large dining room that can comfortably accommodate 6–8 people around the table. The kitchen is exceptionally well equipped and actually exceeded our expectations. The separate utility/laundry room in the extension was also very convenient. The bedrooms are generously sized and feature very comfortable mattresses with clean, hotel quality bedding. The bathrooms are finished to a high standard and were spotlessly clean. The property is situated in a quiet location within walking distance of the town centre and local shops, making it an excellent base for exploring the area. Parking can sometimes be a little challenging, particularly during busy periods. We visited during the school half-term holiday, so the area was understandably very busy. However, we were always able to find a space on the nearby side streets. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would happily recommend Green Ghyll to others.

PROXIMITY TO TOWN CENTRE. IDEAL BASE FOR VISITING THE LAKE DISTRICT. VERY WELL EQUIPPED KITCHEN.

PARKING CLOSE TO THE PROPERTY WAS IMPOSSIBLE AT TIMES. THIS WAS NOT MADE CLEAR IN PROPERTY DETAILS. A MEMBER OF OUR PARTY HAS MOBILITY ISSUES SO THIS PRESENTED US WITH PROBLEMS. ON ONE OCCASION THE NEAREST AVAILABLE PARKING SPACE WAS 15 MINUTES WALK AWAY! IF WE HAD KNOWN THIS WE WOULD NEVER HAVE BOOKED THE PROPERTY. IN ADDITION THE INFORMATION WE DID RECEIVE SAID THERE WAS A GARDEN BUT THERE IS NOT!

The location was very good. 5 min walk into town on a quirt side road. Although there was no dedicated parking, finding a spot was never a problem, (but we did have to park a 30 sec or so walk form the house a few times). All in all it was a welcoming, clean and well supplied home with great ground floor space.

Whist we got ok sleep, the beds could have been more comfortable, and the showers were not very powerful.
