So Glad Our Plans Changed — Bryn Melyn Was Wonderful

We stayed at Bryn Melyn Cottages after a very last-minute change of plans due to flooding at the cottage we were originally staying in. Honestly, it felt like the flood happened for a reason, because Bryn Melyn was absolutely fabulous. We stayed in the two-bedroom cottage and it had everything we needed for a really comfortable, stress-free stay. The cottage was well equipped, cosy, and felt like a proper home from the moment we arrived. The hosts were amazing — so welcoming and thoughtful — and checked in with us to make sure we were settled and had everything we needed, which really meant a lot given the circumstances of our arrival. We couldn’t have asked for a better place and will definitely be booking again, hopefully in the summer next time. Highly recommend!

More information about what’s going on in the area particularly during holiday times. Bathroom was a tight space to get in and out of and the floor was a bit slippery.

We had a fantastic three nights stay.

Steve and Gu were such a lovely couple, they were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The cottages were exactly as described and more. The location was very peaceful and relaxing with extensive grounds.

We were a group of twelve and stayed at three separate cottages, but the cottage we occupied - two double bedrooms- was the smallest , but cosy. We had issues with very low water pressure and we didn't like how cold it was initially because the cottage has old fashion storage heaters that only comes on in the middle of the night! But once it was up and running it stayed very warm all day.

Cosy, homely and well equipped. Lovely place, perfect location. There are plenty of walks, it’s a good retreat for those with a very busy life like us. We’ll be back soon, for sure! Thank you Gu, for the amazing hospitality!

A lovely cozy retreat, hidden amongst the beauty of the Welsh countryside.

The cottages are located within a beautiful Farmland. Each one having its own personality. Was warm and cozy especially in these early winter months, and a great break away from the city !

The best weekend we’ve had in ages!

The cottage felt like a home from home with everything we needed & lots of lovely extra touches. The hosts were extremely welcoming & helpful, making our weekend feel very special. Our whole family loved the cosy cottage with its layout & facilities, the wonderful hot tub & the epic games room - we had so much fun! We really appreciated that our dog Layla was very welcome too & she made the most of the large garden to run around in & enjoyed woodland walks to visit the ponies. Gorgeous location & views. All in all, PERFECT. We will definitely return!

A much needed home away from home

Bryn Melyn is located in the most beautiful area, quiet and picturesque. We loved being away from our busy lives and getting to relax. The cottage we stayed in, was homey and comfortable. We were able to come and go as we pleased and Gu made us feel very welcome! We enjoyed the wood-fire hot tub one night, which is hidden away in a beautiful part of the grounds. Would definitely come again and bring the kids next time, they would love the games room! 100% recommend. Thankyou!

Perfect location, lovely hosts, cosy cottages with plenty of amenities, friendly animals and stunning views of the surrounding countryside. If you are fortunate enough to have clear skies it becomes a perfect place for stargazing too. Couldn't have asked for more! Special place that we can't wait to return to. Thank you for having us, it was by far the best place I have stayed at to experience the best of what the Welsh countryside has to offer.

Property is situated with access to surrounding areas - spacious property with parking on site with exceptional communal garden out of back door - plenty of supplied activities to play on the lawn from games room or tennis on court - anything you would need is in property including washing machine & dishwasher! Hot tub on site in fantabulously tranquil surroundings! It’s a walk to the fabulous fishing lake so take everything you need with you! Our highlight was our BBQ & roaring fire on our last night - sitting eating & playing games in the specially set up area (logs provided) was a lovely round off to our stay at Bryn Melyn Farm Cottages - a truly amazing experience with family & their dog.

Brilliant stay

We had an amazing stay at Gu and Steve's farmhouse. They are both very friendly and welcoming. The cottage was small but perfectly adequate for two adults and two children. The Juliette balcony is a real bonus - great views. The onsite facilities were ideal. The quiet location suited us well. There's lots to do but you do need to be prepared to drive about a bit. But when the countryside is this beautiful we didn't mind. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and would like to go back.

Absolutely perfect!

We loved our stay Bryn Melyn Cottages, brilliant facities like games room, bbq, fire pit, hot tub, tennis court. The location was lovely and the cottage was one of the best equipped holiday lets we've ever stayed in. It was spotless and had everything we needed and more. The welcome hamper was a nice touch too. Steve and Gulin were lovely hosts and always available if we needed any help with anything. We will definitely stay here again ! Thank you

Amazing hospitality with wonderful hosts

Facilities were fantastic. Loved the hot tub (wood fired) and the open fire pit stocked with plenty of firewood. Hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable. Kitchen is well equipped. And bonus points for the wonderful cats — though, admittedly, one does like to meow quite a bit (but turns out she's very friendly - and never at night, which ensures peaceful sleep). Games room was brilliantly equipped - though, one gentle bit of feedback, the pool table could be re-clothed (it's by no means unplayable) and the table tennis paddles could be updated - but again, very much playable; but these are minor bits of feedback and of a similar standard I have seen at other venues. There are also plenty of board games and toys for young children - meaning there's ultimately something for everybody. Regarding the area, it's ideally located in the peaceful countryside, but only a short drive to the town centre (which is quaint and has all the essentials you need - including a few good pubs). There's a newly opened restaurant down the road, which is ideal - though, we decided to eat at the bistro in Bala town centre - which was genuinely, very good. Overall, if you're looking for a fairly priced and relaxing trip away from the hustle and bustle of the city, I recommend Bryn Melyn cottages.

Bryn Melyn Farm is the place where the time stop .. You will be welcomed by amazing warm owners and bunch of lovely animals all so friendly that it is not common and to experience this wonderful treat is priceless.Area is huge,many different corners to explore,there is something for everyone.Cottage where we stayed was very spacious,lovely design,equipped will all you need even more.Extremely comfortable beds😌!!We highly recommend this magnificent accommodation and wish to be back in the future.Best regards❤️

Fantastic and well-equipped accommodation - perfect for us. The surroundings are beautiful. Our dog liked his stay too. The owner was also both welcoming and helpful.

It was in a fantastic location, set in its own beautiful grounds. The property owners were very accommodating and friendly. They were very hospitable and catered to our needs as best they possibly could. Overall we had a wonderful time here.

Unfortunately the information on Booking.Com doesn’t mention that the bedrooms are only accessible by stairs. I was under the mistaken impression that the chosen property was all on one level but it wasn’t. I did have difficulty climbing the stairs because of my limited mobility, but this is no reflection on the proprietors themselves.

Fantastic location and fabulous stay.

Hosts met us on arrival, very helpful and friendly. Booked as a party of three families. Cottage was very clean and exceeded expectations. Locations was fabulous as we had a number of activities booked at 'Zipworld' and went walking nearby. Our children loved the horses, the gamesroom and the freedom to run around. Adults really enjoyed our evenings around the firepit. Would definitely recommend and will be going back!

From arrival even though late evening such a warm welcome and made to feel so welcome during our 3 night stay. Opening our eyes to such incredible views. The cottage was a gift that just kept giving. Lovely hosts, idyllic location, the perfect family retreat

A property where all of our family can be on one site but with separate properties and not just in one big house was hard to find and this property was perfect! The hosts are the most lovely couple and the location was idyllic. We went for family hikes to nearby waterfalls, there was plenty of space for our dogs to run around and wear themselves out. The properties were clean and well equipped with everything for our stay, we had such a lovely time and can't wait to revisit here again!
