Abbey del Sol - Tropical Escape Near Beach in Puerto Morelos

I like it all. Great place to stay. Quiet.

Very well appointed and located 4 minutes walk to the beach and 15 minutes to town, restaurants and grocery. The bikes and beach chairs were appreciated and so was the BBQ. An umbrella at the pool would be nice to provide some shade.

Only 1 cleaning was provided for 14 nights and we had to pay for 1 extra toilet paper roll.

The location is great, enjoyed the firm bed, glad to have a fridge and fresh water but the last time I stayed, I paid more for a much better accommodation at this location-I should have sprung for the same again because this room was not as good, just eh, ok.

The faucet in washroom was in need of a stream straightener screen because it sprays water in all directions and makes a mess, the sink is awkward to use and at an odd angle. I’m not a fan of the sliding glass door because you have to use key to lock it and i had a little trouble getting it to latch. I was naked when a male staff member tried to enter my room at 8:26 in am (I am female) and I believe he thought room was vacant maybe? I also believe perhaps that many people in puerto are getting weary of all the tourists. I asked at the desk if someone perhaps had an ibuprofen and said I knew it was asking as a favor (and had no expectation), but Mariela at desk said “we don”t usually give medication to guests” in such a tone that I felt like I was asking for narcs or something unbelievably over the top and inconvenient. Not my favorite experience but can I complain about paying $60 USD for a firm bed in a room a block from beach ?
