About this villa rental
Our classic beach villa is spacious & comfortable; perfect for families or group of friends to share. Large swimming pool is the focal point of the mature lawned garden. Timeless Caribbean style with white-painted mahogany louvred windows, cathedral ceilings and cool terrazzo marble floors, gives a sense of 'place'.
The villa has a prime location at the heart of the world-class oceanfront gated community of Sea Horse Ranch, just 20 mins' drive from Puerto Plata (POP) Airport. Glorious private beaches, double ocean front swimming pools with waterfalls & cave, tennis club, pickleball court, equestrian centre offering guided trail and beach rides, Beach Club restaurant & weekly Farmer's Market - all yours to enjoy! Excellent security, manicured green areas and walking/jogging paths throught the Ranch.
We also offer ''in villa dining'' - courtesy of the kitchen co-operative that is Elizabeth & NIdia our 2 long-standing housekeepers - both wonderful ''local'' cooks - who enjoy preparing the delicious classic Dominican dishes for our guests. Sue, who has cooked professionally around the world, adds an international touch/flavour to the mix - always using best local ingredients and meals perfect for the tropics/outdoor dining. The White House is a stylish vacation home - perfect for larger groups of family or friends. It has hosted many happy multi-generational gatherings. It is tastefully furnished in contemporary style with a mix of imported & local furniture, some vintage, upholstered with cotton slipcovers in neutral shades. The house is painted white throughout, making it very light. Carefully chosen pictures & fresh flowers complete the look.
The property is designed to take full advantage of its tropical setting in the midst of a mature tropical garden. 8 louvered doors completely open up the large sitting room to the wrap-around terrace, which is attractively furnished for outdoor living with comfortable rattan sofas and arm chairs. The dining table is located at one end & there is a brick BBQ on the lawn adjacent to the terrace.
The garden is very private and has a path giving direct access to the beach walkway. 3 of our 4 private beaches, the double ocean front swimming pools and the Beach Club restaurant are just a 2 -minute WALK from the White House.
The property has 5 bedrooms & 4 bathrooms - located in 2 'wings' on either side of the spacious sitting room, thus making it ideal for groups of friends, or 2 families; giving a good degree of privacy to everyone.
The kitchen. with painted units & ''butcher block' wooden worktops has doors opening directly to the terrace & garden. New 6 burner cooker & large 'side by side' fridge freezer & microwave, dish-washer and good-quality china & glassware make it a pleasure for cooking. Alternatively, our cook service is available.
The villa has1 Smart TV in sitting room, as well as an excellent and reliable fibre optic internet broadband internet connection with 20 Mbps.

The villa was perfect for a 2 family (8 in total) stay over the holidays. The host - Steve and Sue - were highly communicative and very helpful. I CANNOT, CANNOT say enough about Elizabeth and Nidia - our house caretakers. We elected to have their meal services for the week and they did not disappoint. Amazing meals prepped with local flare. We have rented in the Rivera Maya, Costa Rica, Puerto Vallarta and their meals rivaled them all. Not to mention their personal charm. The Sea Horse Ranch grounds were also amazing with spectacular beach side views all nestled in a luxurious jungle like environment. The club and beaches even in the peak week of New Years week were far from crowded. Our daughter also enjoyed some lessons at the equestrian center. The villa is well equipped. Large enough to allow space to get away but also felt very communal. The beach and club are only 3 minute walk from villa. Highly recommended.

Property was beautiful. Our host was easy to communicate with. He made sure we had an abundance of information about the area. Staff was over the top nice. They had a large group to care for and sometimes cook fantastic meals for. Always pleasant!

We spent Christmas at the villa with three generations of my husband's family. It was wonderful! Sea Horse Ranch is a perfect place to vacation and we loved Steve and Sue's house. It felt like home. We enjoyed the privacy of the house but also loved the community amenities that were a short walk from the villa (pools, beaches, outstanding restaurant, tennis, equestrian center). Their housekeepers Elizabeth and Nidia were so kind and a great help during our stay. We have previously stayed at homes with full-time staff and preferred this so much more! Elizabeth and Nidia visited the house each morning to tidy the beds and sweep up sand, but otherwise we enjoyed privacy as a family. It was perfect! We arranged in advance for them to prepare several meals for our family, and wow -- delicious!! Their meals are not to be missed! We ate at The Beach Club for several meals as well, and that's also not to be missed! Gorgeous views!!
Steve and Sue were very thoughtful hosts and great communicators. We appreciated all of their help with providing information and recommendations, assisting with transport, and greeting us upon arrival. Highly, highly recommend that anyone consider a stay here if you're headed to this part of the island.

Nice large pool, great outdoor living & dining, kitchen cookware needs updating. We were disappointed when we were charged an additional fee to have local friends come visit.
