Great little historic rental centrally located in the "Gem of the Catskills," Windham, NY. Family friendly or a cozy little getaway for 2. Great place to use as home base for your mountain adventures!
Tucked away over a turn of the century barn this two bedroom rental will take you back to a simpler time and place. One comfy queen and one single bed accommodates your sleeping needs. Awaken to the rooster's crow and prepare your morning breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen. The separate dining and living area are bright and roomy. The full bathroom has an original claw foot tub.
This lovely getaway is located less than 2 miles from Windham Mountain and just 15 miles from Hunter Mountain. Area activities include skiing, snow shoeing, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, nature trails (beautiful water falls), fishing, swimming, antiques, art galleries and much more. A short drive to Zoom Flume water park, local farm markets, Howe Caverns. An hours drive to Cooperstown.

Holiday weeks (Dec 24 through Jan 3 have a 3 night minimum) Memorial Day, Labor Day and Columbus Day weekends . $10.00 per night per adult for extra adult. Will consider early check in/late check out if available.

This was our second time staying. Cynthia is a great host. Th ehouse has everything you need. There are so many great hiking spots nearby and there are plenty of places to eat and get what you want nearby.

Great space and location. Felt like a sublet/housesitting -- apartment was very well-stocked with kitchen items, dvds, games, and very comfortable living room/tv room and beds. Honestly, though, watching our chicken neighbors was more entertaining! Place was immaculately clean -- blankets and cozies everywhere, but all of them seemed freshly cleaned (no dust, no must), and bathroom was spotless. French shower takes a bit of finagling to manage, but within a day we'd managed, and you should bring drinking water if you're not accustomed to "mountain water." Check-in and -out was uncomplicated and without the massive checklists and hoops to jump through you get with some vrbos. Location is great -- I drove less on this trip than other Catskill vacations because you're right in between Windham and Hunter/Tannersville. If you were so inclined, you could walk to Windham Path in 30 minutes! Fine dining at Matilda is just across the street, so a driving-free cocktail night is close at hand! Even Phoenicia is not too far afield. Lots of great hikes (Diamond Notch, Becker Hollow, Burnt Knob/Acra Point) within twenty minutes. Will be coming back!

What a lovely experience! My pup and I stayed for the weekend for a wedding across the street at the Henson -- it was the perfect spot. We felt very at home here and Cynthia was a dream. Absolutely hoping to come back!
