Forgot to make reservations for breakfast and they opened the bar just for my family and served us breakfast when they did not need to do so. Went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of!! Dinner there was also a great experience.

It’s a lovely building and it was comfortable.

Our TV did not work and my husband could not watch the fifa World Cup game in our room which was a nuisance. I thought it was excessively overpriced at €135. Most places on the Camino are less that €100 even for a private room with bathroom, and range between €60 and €80. Dorm beds are the monastery are €21 so massive differential. They also charge more for the pilgrim menu than the monastery. There is not much selection in Ronchesvalles.

Room was very clean and a lot more modern than you'd expect from the age of the building.

Our room was a split level with 1 bed down and two up. Cool room EXCEPT there is no window! I've never been in a room without a window. There was a skylight but you could not open it. The room was blazingly hot and no way to vent it. Not comfortable at all in the loft beds due to heat. Woman at the front dest was lovely warm and welcoming. Bar staff could not care less if you were alive. Staff is dining room was of similar note... I never saw a smile and never felt welcome appreciated. Granted this is Spain, not the land of service with a smile.
