We visited the barn for a long weekend to celebrate our parents 60th. There was 7 of us and 2 dogs and we had a lovely time. Plenty of space to spread around and have our own space if we needed it. The barn itself is lovely - a car is definitely needed to get around but it’s in a serene setting. The house is so much bigger in person than on the photos and in lovely condition. We would definitely recommend and visit again in a heart beat!

The location for a birthday weekend with the family was perfect and was a great space for everyone to be together. The house was beautiful, and lots of different space to socialise. The house was a little dirty but this was not a massive issues, could have used more outdoor lighting when trying to park as arriving in the dark. Great space would recommend

Overall we had a lovely stay and a friendly welcome. The property is of a nice size with each bedroom having access to an ensuite which was great. The location, with a car, is absolutely fine for getting around the pretty towns however, it's not walking distance to shops / restaurants etc which would have been nice. However, we were surprised with the general upkeep of the property - in particular, the outside looks tired and could do with some attention including the patio furniture - it rained heavily one day and water entered into the property from the front window (we think). Most disappointing however, was the cleanliness of the property; for example, we went to remove the rubbish bags, and the bins were just filthy; similarly, the cutlery draw had to be cleaned and the stove/ovens were not very clean and this put us off using the property more than we would have done had the standard been much better. Could also do with new quality pans for cooking too. We were more disappointed because we noticed from a recent review that similar comments had been made about the cleanliness of the property amongst others so before booking we checked with StayCotswold and were told all matters had been dealt with and we should book without concern - clearly, this was not entirely the case on this occasion..

Waterhead Barn is ideally situatedi to make the most of its rural surroundings and the nearby beautiful Cotswolds. With a little more oversight, it could be a 5 star facility. On arrival, it was very impressive, spacious and sparkling clean. However by the end of our stay quite a number of failings became apparent, some of them quite seriousThere was copious hot water but the temperature was set too high with a consequent risk of scaldingThe gas hob was difficult light and occasionally went out but the gas seemed able to continue to flow.Other difficulties included the dishwasher which was difficult to programme and a little short on capacity for a full house of 10 guests. The two televisions and 4 remote controls were also a challenge. The bath seat in the ground floor bathroom refused to stay in place despite it being fixed in placed daily . Most shower taps were leaking and liable to become unscrewed and all the ladies complained about the lack of shelving in the bathrooms. They also commented om the unsightly linen cupboard in the snug. It was s bit mean to provide no toiletries, no replacement toilet rolls, ,only 7 dishwasher tabs, one roll of bin liners. There needs to be some oversight the management of the barn as is capable of delivering a better customer experience.

We had a tall order to fill: somewhere charming and beautiful, not too far from the next stop our journey (Birmingham), able to accommodate three related couples, one cousin coming just for a couple of days, and one cousin with a severe disability requiring a ground floor bedroom and ensuite bathroom, a well-equipped kitchen for the ambitious cooks among us and enough accessible space on one level that we could all gather easily. Waterhead Barn shone in virtually all of these categories. Andy gave us a very friendly and helpful welcome and we felt like pals by the time we had to leave - in spite of only two other encounters. Our only complaint was about the adequacy of decent sharp knives in the kitchen and a proper selection of cookware but that is almost ALWAYS the case at every short-term rental we've ever done anywhere so no particular slight against WB! We had the best time and are grateful to WB and StayCotswolds for providing the best possible setting for a time in our family that was both celebratory and sombre (mostly celebratory).

We were pleased with the barn But BBQ much too small for no of guests. We found it with burnt wood logs?? for us to clean? Perhaps had been used as a fire pit? The hot tub was great but connected to the barn through an OPEN window?? Which we had to use with all our stuff inside??? Not safe? The patio was covered in weeds etc. Not great. No! For the price would not recommend for security etc.
