This was our second stay and although we paid more this time for a slightly smaller unit, the location made up for it. (It would be nice to have a floor plan shown in the description of the units along with the square footage.) We didn't realize we would be in a four-plex unit this time, with no windows on the side. The inside was a little dark. And the master bedroom bath was small, unlike the rear twin bed bedroom that had double sinks and a large walk-in shower. The decor was nicely decorated, with comfortable furniture, and a well supplied kitchen, although the carpet needed cleaning badly. Each unit has a screened-in porch and breakfast and lunch everyday was a treat sitting there with a wonderful view of the water, the beach and the pelicans! The beach is so walkable with firm sand, lots of shells, and the occasional dolphin fishing close to shore! The short ferry ride on and off the island keeps the island quiet and secluded. The food at the resort restaurant is OK, but we shopped at the local Publix and ate in most of the time. This is such a little slice of paradise, that we felt no need to stray beyond the island very often. The closest restaurants are not that good, but the best seafood we found was on Englewood beach at Waverly's. This is a place to relax, and just enjoy the beach, the sky and the solitude. If you are looking for nightlife or activity, this would not be the place to come. We hope to return. It's expensive because of location, location, location, but we share a unit with another couple and split the cost which makes it affordable. The resort property is well run, well maintained, and beautifully landscaped around the units and pools. Golf carts are available to rent, but anytime you need a ride to the parking lot, call the bell captain who sends a cart to your door. Everyone is friendly and accommodating! It feels upscale without being stuffy. Perfect vacation!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is by far the nicest appearing villa we have ever stayed in at Palm Island Resort. However the appearance is negated by the loud walking sounds of the individuals, who reside upstairs. Each night between 10pm and 2am they walk back and forth repeatedly making it difficult to sleep. When we initially complained the first night, there were no other available units to move to and we were forced to go buy ear plugs which didn't work. We love Palm Island, but we will not reserve this unit again, and will stick with upstairs units to avoid this from occurring in the future.
