Wonderful location
It’s a hotel above a perfect location cafe-restaurant. The hotel was run as a bit of an afterthought. We arrived at 4pm as we had been asked to arrive before 5pm (the restaurant was closed for the Monday evening). But our room was only ready for us at 5pm

This hotel stands very in front of "Closed City of Concarneau". The views from our room was very fantastical. There are some English speaker in reception so could feel comfortable .
There was no car parking in the hotel so we have to find and get it my self.

The location is exceptional. Staff was very helpful, letting us park the bikes in the corridor for the night.

No lift. Some shabby areas but due for refurbishment

Location is good, external appearance is nice
This place is so tired it is exhausted and needs a total make over. Bed was beyond reasonably worn out. Shower room was tiny, shower was rusty and crappy. Decor is early 80s… understand it has been sold and new owners are planing a make over so worth keeping and eye on as location is nice.

First things first: Concarneau is lovely and the location of this hotel is great. It is right in the heart of town (although this means it is very noisy at night). Our room was light and airy at the front of the hotel with three windows, 2 with balconies, and a sea view, but with an odd (and very dated) bathroom and toilet built into the corenr of the room.
The hotel is rather down-at-heel and the bedrooms and bathrooms are in need of renovation. Breakfast was poor and extortionate - I would recommend going to a nearby café instead. The staff who cleaned the rooms were polite and did a great job; the waiting staff and bar staff were neither polite nor helpful. The bar next door had very loud music until VERY late (circa 3am) which was very disruptive - the staff left a rather cryptic note with the telephone numbers of the gendarmerie and the bar and suggested residents should telephone and remonstrate with them on the basis that the local byelaws say that music shouldn't be played after midnight (can't imagine that would have got us anywhere...) The hotel is in need of a facelift, but if you want the feel of a 1970s/1980s provincial hotel in a French port, then this will be right up your street.

We liked the room and location, we had a great view and the room was a good size and the bed comfortable.
The whole hotel is slightly run down, they have been making some cosmetic improvements but these are low budget......we had a power outage in our room at 21:30 in the evening but there was nobody about until 05:30 the next day to sort things out.

Excellent location
Very busy when checking in next to bar and check in not until 1500h despite showing earlier on confirmation.

the location is unbeatable to enjoy Concarneau and the surroundings. the room is also absolutely fine - the en-suite has shower + washing basin and a separate toilet. more common in the UK than in France but nonetheless perfectly fine (some negative reviews penalised this aspect and we thought it was a bit unfair). the most amazing thing were the triple options for darkening the room: black out or dark curtains, exterior electrical shutters and internal panel shutters with sound proofing. there is indeed a late night bar with loud music but with all this system it is totally fine. very generous breakfast with croissants, bread and jam (French).
the real negative but is the smell at the entrance (not in the rooms) and could not understand what it was but not very pleasant… there is a clear intention of the hotel management to improve the quality of the interiors and service. only sone minor details could be adjusted to make a big difference: the interiors should get rid of things that feels like ‘a patch on top of a hole’ and address them in a simple way that would look more welcoming to guests. a bit more toiletries would go a long way (ex. small soap bars were fine but 2 empty soap dispensers were pointless and no shower gel). breakfast was nice but can be made a bit more special as it costs 10 euros. the first impression is that reception is a bit distant and not present for most of the time, in reality they are all at the café and helpful bit it gives guests the feel of abandonment…

Location excellent & lovely view of the old walled town from window. Beds comfortable & even though decor is dated room was comfortable/cosy. Tea/coffee facilities.
Stairs, we stayed in the family sea view room which was on the top floor, no lift. We arrived at 2pm, girl at 'reception desk' in bar/restaurant would not let us have room until 2.30pm (exact check-in time)

The room had 3 windows overlooking the old town and the markets. The electric shutters were great for black out when sleeping. It was very clean and the housekeeping staff were polite and friendly. The hotel is opposite the entrance to the old city and very handy for being downtown and the markets. Parking opposite is limited to 4 hours and when the markets are on but you can park for 24hrs or longer nearer the tourist office.
The 2nd floor room had everything squeezed into it: shower and basin were behind a three quarters high partition behind the wardrobe, the separate loo was tiny and although there was a large chair and table in the room it just made the room more cluttered. There were 3 windows so it was light and you could see in 2 directions across town but only when standing up. We had breakfast once in the dining area but we didn't think it was worth 9 euros each so we got croissants and takeaway coffee from a boulangerie round the corner. The hotel is very central and therefore quite noisy at night when the youths are speeding about on their bikes.

Location and bedroom was great.
It was very hot but we had to close the windows due to very large mosquitoes coming in. I killed about a dozen and recieved painful bites throughout the night. They also buzzed my ears all night so I had a lot of trouble sleeping.
When I finally was able to get to sleep I was awakened by guests loudly slamming the hallway bathroom door which was right next to my room.
The door also creaked unbelievably loud, this seems like something that could be addressed rather easily with some oil but hasn’t been done.
I highly recommend they install screens to keep the mosquitoes out.

Goid location though possibly noisy
One room ok, one very ordinary. Could near some refurbishment, unhelpful waiter in the bar attached.

Location! Les Grand Voyageurs is right at the central place opposite of the Ville Close. Everything is just a footstep away. This was really the only hotel in Concarneau available at that time, and due to the previous bad reviews we were a bit hesitant. So we were surprised that the room was quite nice and comfortable. It was right above the busy creperie, but that one closed at 6 pm and everything became relatively quiet during the night. We were glad we booked there!
- There were (too) many mosquitos.
- There is not really space to park the car quickly for check-in. We used the parking lot right opposite. 10 minutes later - after checking in - we had a ticket :-( Make sure you pay, even only for a few minutes.

The view and location were great.
Helpful staff.
Dated and funny smelly building and dated room. Creapy atmosphere. We where upgraded to a better room with a buth tub instead of a tiny shower in the first one but it wasn't much of an up gread. The view is indeed amazing,, right infront of the old Town walls but very noisy during the night since you must open the windows to not suffocate from the buildings horrible smell. Considering all the above-too pricey
