Elafusa Luxury Apartment

I liked that the transport they organised for us from the airport, brought us right into the old town to a car park just 150 metres from the apartment. That was an experience getting through the old town in the car but our driver Moisis Koen was wonderful and knew exactly what he was doing. One of the staff met us at the carpark and showed us the way and helped with the luggage. The staff were friendly and welcoming and prepared a lovely breakfast for us each morning. The apartment was quaint and traditional, the decor felt authentic, making us feel that we were staying in the old town. It had a little kitchenette with a kettle for tea and coffee.with a good sized fridge. The bathroom was spacious and all worked adequately. Our little courtyard was cosy and a lovely spot for breakfast. The position of the apartment was in a quiet lovely street but within an easy walk to the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area, restaurants, bakery, shopping and places of interest.

We missed our Greek yogurt and fresh fruit with our breakfast as we had gotten used to that at the other places we had stayed. The apartment sometimes smelt of cigarettes. I'm not a smoker and found this unpleasant during the times I noticed it. It didn't take away the fact that it's a lovely apartment, I'm not sure if this was past occupants smoking in the apartment or people in the little cafe below smoking. Coming from Australia where public health is a priority, smoking is not allowed in any public places, so hotels, holiday accommodation, shops, restaurants, bars taverns restaurants inside and out are smoke free. So coming to Europe was a bit of a culture shock in that aspect. I guess next time I will be more aware and look at smoke free accommodation.

The most perfect place to stay. Hosts were lovely and professional. The room was outstanding and better than I expected. Breakfast was served exquisitely. Location was perfect. Without question will stay again.

The apartment is perfectly situated in the heart of Rhodes Town, placing you right in the middle of the medieval centre. Everything you want to see within the city walls is an easy 10 min walk away. Service is exemplary. The ladies running the place show a lot of care and attention to making your stay comfortable and they are very helpful with suggestions and tailoring the breakfast to meet dietary needs. Breakfast was artfully laid out each morning in the pretty upper courtyard. The room overlooking the street is well decorated and has a lot of artistic charm.

The front room is against the street so can be slightly more noisy late at night. I'd suggest taking the room at the back if you have little ones. Parking in Rhodes is difficult and can be expensive, I would aim to get into the free spaces and leave your car there and explore the area on foot. These spaces full up fast so get there early, e.g. before 0700.

Staff lovely, good breakfast

No wifi or TV for our stay- missed the World Cup games. Bed hard- mattress on a concrete slab. Very noisy overnight with neighbours and passing foot traffic early hours. No bathrobes, no safe. Would not call it a luxury apartment.
