Out of everywhere in Rockhampton to stay I would only recommend a few places for various reasons a few being what is family friendly , quite, safe ,helpful and polite, easy accessible and surrounds you with good people of the community and quality of the room of course ,I highly recommend the criterion I have stayed in the new section rooms with a locking gate for entrance you vehicle is safe ! And rite beside the gate is a door accessed only via your room key so you can come and go as you please the rooms are clean smell and feel clean it has a new one bedroom flat feel although you mite think because the pub is connected it shouldn't put you off to go stay for your self you don't get bothered or have anyone bother you they maintain the place well I feel and you cant hear the out side that much to be a bother to you the rooms are insulated well for sound going in and out the staff are helpfull polite ,as they have changed where they now need a $200 deposit they give that back with no issues as long as you don't break or damage your room in any way this excludes your rubbish and messy bed towel on the ground in the room via accident or rush the staff were woundefull enough to tell me where the ATM mechine is there and let me know paying cash will be more ideal for my self to on the of departure inorder to get around waiting for your back to release it back to you . I thought that was helpful .for my self as their customers best interest. I have also stayed in the one section rooms and they are exactly the same as what I said above just not brand new but are really nice I like it probably a little better but I do like a historical feel was beautiful my room was family suite 2x single beds 1 queen or king double not sure now it's not open plan there is room walls deviding I believe off memory you can close off the two rooms private bathroom table chairs fireplace ,the cost is really worth it good the view stunning I hope my review is helpfull to other looking to stay somewhere in rockhampton

Nice old fashioned place meals good, parking could be a issue but we got lucky, staff great 😊

Did not expect there is no toilet in the room even it is a very old style hotel.
