Hotel Centenario

The hotel is in a very good location to visit the Civic Center and the cathedral in the center of Guatemala City. The hotel is very clean but it does need some cosmetic repairs.

Cable and TV reception was very limited. It would be no ce to update tvs from the 1980’s to plasma tvs.

OK room. Nice and helpful staff. Good breakfast in the restaurant next door. Near the cathedral. Close to restaurants and shops.

No elevator

El hotel es básico, si tiene un deterioro significativo y la foto que se ve aquí es quizás de unos 10 o 15 años atrás, no obstante la limpieza y tranquilidad del lugar es buena. Tienen convenio con Patsy y los desayunos estuvieron increibles

Quizás tuve una visión errónea de la locación, hay algunos atractivos cercanos pero en la tarde noche la zona no se siente segura, mucho habitante de calle y consumo frente al hotel, no encuentras casi nada cerca abierto y tampoco te dan ganas de salir en la noche.

This hotel is on the Parque Centenario, which is an extension of the Parque Central, the main square of Guatemala City. If you are looking for somewhere in Zona 1, the oldest part of Guatemala City, the location is great. The cathedral is on the square, and the central market is beyond the cathedral. It wasn't expensive given that hotels in that part of town generally are relatively expensive. I arrived really late in the evening and they had someone open up for me.

It's an old hotel, and it doesn't seem to have had any money spent on it for some time. It feels run-down, both in the public spaces and the rooms. The wifi in my room worked fine, and once I was inside I felt safe. But it's the kind of place that has signs in the lobby that say: "We do not rent rooms by the hour". It was ok for a night but it wasn't great.
