Our unique property allows guests to adequately "social distance" from the homeowner, with exclusive use of the yard and pool during their stay. Reach out to me for further details and updates.

This 1948-built architectural home was designed by architect, Allen Siple and developed by Paul Trousdale who later went on to built Trousdale Estates in Los Angeles.. Current owner completely remodeled and expanded the residence in 2007 with an art and spa aesthetic and includes a walled compound consisting of the main home (occupied by owners) and a 650+ sq. foot detached guest house, separated by a loggia with fireplace. Known as Casa de Arte, the home and art collection has been featured in numerous publications. Ideal guest would be a seasonal renter looking for quiet enjoyment of the desert lifestyle or a visitor coming into the city for a special event like Modernism Week, Palm Springs Art Fair or Coachella Music Festival.

The City of Palm Springs ID# 8003 for a "homeshare" short-term rental. The city charges a 12.5% Transit Occupancy Tax on stays less than 28 days which is collected by VRBO. Guest will sign a "Good Neighbor Brochure" when they arrive noting they will comply city City requirements including occupancy limits, noise prohibitions and vehicle parking requirement. In addition the City requires the host to make a copy of the responsible party's driver's license or other ID.

Note that the per diem rate does not include heating the pool. We will heat the spa upon request on occasion during your stay not to exceed one-hour per day. Up to one-hour per day will be gratis. Additional spa time will have a surcharge of $25/hour.

NOTE: 2 night minimum. IMPORTANT NOTE: 3 night minimum for Coachella, Stagecoach and certain holidays. There is a 5 night minimum for Modernism Week. For the high season months of January through April the MAXIMUM rental period will be for 3 consecutive weeks. (No monthly rentals for those 4 months).

We had such a fabulous stay! Stan and Gil were gracious hosts and offered us treats and snacks throughout our stay as well as great info on local restaurants and must-see attractions.The pool and hot tub were fabulous as well as outdoor eating area and a screened in porch. The casita is gorgeous and the bed was super comfortable. We also enjoyed riding the bikes they had onsite- there is a great bike trail system right across the street. We will surely stay here again! We loved our stay on Gil and Stan’s beautiful property! The guest house was clean and comfortable and had everything we could need. The pool area in the backyard was a dream. Stan and Gil took great care of us, even providing popsicles to beat the heat, and an ice pack for my knee injury. We are so thankful for their hospitality at their incredible home!

If I could give one million stars that still would not be enough. Gil and Stan are the most gracious, kind, generous, thoughtful, humble hosts you could imagine. This is our third stay here and there will be many more. We celebrated my birthday while there and they invited my friends in for an after dinner party for a tour of their gorgeous home along with cupcakes, a card, music, candles and a special drink. What a beautiful unexpected surprise this was! Every day they would ask if there was anything we need which there was not because who could not ask for more! The property is very spacious with the bed, a seating area, futon couch, large bathroom with two sinks, kitchen with two burners, a toaster oven and dish washer and then your very own pool with floaties and outdoor living area. They even shared limes from their tree and gave me my very own Marilyn Monroe towel! We were very fortunate the evenings we got to spend visiting with them. Thank you is not enough to extend the gratitude we feel. We look forward many more stays with Gil and Stan.

From the beautiful setting with mountains visible from the courtyard to the courtyard itself, with thoughtfully arranged artwork and azure pool, this casita was difficult to say goodbye to. We were greeted by one of our hosts who walked us through the rules of the house, made sure our every question was answered, and welcomed us into one of the more fabulous places we’ve stayed in Palm Springs. We found the carefully chosen bedding to be comfortable, the view from the bed to the pool to be stunning, and the provided robes and bath and pool linens perfect. The small kitchen had nearly everything we needed, as we were eating out with friends throughout our stay. Location: incredible. Even near downtown and busy roadways, the pool fountains and bubblers made lounging by the pool or having coffee in the art-filled loggia peaceful. And more on location: we loved hiking along the paths by Tahquitz Creek, just across the street, and going even further to hike the in-progress Prescott Preserve that’s taking over for the failed Mesquite Country Club golf course. Birding and walking to the downtown area made for nature-filled days, and mixing in some sun made it indeed difficult to say goodbye. Thank you to our fantastic hosts for our rainbow trail mix and serenading us with “Happy Trails to You” on our departure.

This is a delightful property with easy access to just about anywhere you want to go in Palm Springs. The property was so nice, however, you may not want to leave. From the more than gracious hosts, to the beautiful art, to the comfy bed, there is just no reason to leave. I hesitate to leave a glowing review because I am afraid it will never be available again. When we decided to spend the holiday in Palm Springs, I began researching different types of lodging. I looked at the guest houses, condo rentals, hotels, and private residences. We decided on the Casita for a few reasons. The accommodations, the location and recommendations. We very much enjoyed our stay and were made to feel quite welcome by Gil & Stan. It’s a very nice neighborhood and a quick drive to downtown. We also had the use of the bicycles that made for a very pleasant day of exploring the area. I would definitely recommend staying here, to have the experience of living in Palm Springs as opposed to just being a visitor. We find that more relaxing and less stressful than “grouped lodging”.

The Guest House accommodations are lovely and very clean. The home is conveniently located to sights and activities in and around Palm Springs. The pool and outdoor space are welcoming and pretty. But most important - the hosts were the secret sauce that made our stay special. They are friendly, generous and interesting company who enhanced our experience with their witty and smart conversations, telling us about their amazing home and artworks, sharing time during our cocktail hour and surprising us with impromptu snacks and surprises. I was there for a week and the time definitely flew by rather quickly. One day the Tram, one day shopping in a nearby town. Dining at some of the local restaurants was also very nice. Ever meal was a joy and surprise. Swimming every day was a must followed up by a nice soak in the spa. Beautiful lighting of the pool and property at night. The bed was extra firm. We were surprised by hosts bringing us treats when we were in the pool on more than one occasion. Delightful.

We loved our stay at this guest house! The property is immaculate and the art all around the property is beautiful to enjoy. The location is near downtown, hiking, spas. Very central location, very quiet and peaceful at nights with views of the San Jacinto mountains. Super close to Tahquitz canyon and the wonderful waterfalls. Our first trip to Palm Springs did not disappoint, largely due to the lovely guest house where we stayed. Hosts, Gil and Stan, were extremely kind and welcoming. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The guest house is beautifully appointed, with plenty of space to relax. The pool was wonderful! The best part, by far, was touring Gil and Stan's stunning home and learning about their art collection. This property is absolutely beautiful. The pool is an oasis and waking up to it outside your bedroom door each day is a dream come true. Very spacious living space that includes a large bathroom with washer/dryer and kitchen. We loved sitting outside in the loggia each evening and playing cards or watching a movie. The owners Gil and Stan are welcoming, accommodating and were an absolute joy to get to know! They would leave us thoughtful little treats on the outdoor table. We look forward to our next stay!!

This guest house and property was our best ever vacation rental. The location is quiet and close to all amenities. Multiple outdoor seating options, well designed pool, perfect water temperature, love the floating mats provided. Comfortable bed, high end linens, thick fluffy indoor and outdoor towels, well appointed kitchen. Art and sculpture was an added bonus. Hosts provided excellent dining and excursion suggestions; they did everything to make our stay exceptional. We enjoyed Palm Springs and we were definitely in a 5 or 6 star resort. Restful and relaxing 10 days and we hope to return again. We would give this vacation rental a 10 stars rating if we could! Thank you Gil and Stan.

This casita was an amazing place to stay. The house was very clean and full of all the amenities we might need. We were entertained perusing all artwork in the house. We particularly loved the Pink Panther drawing. Our hosts were timely in responding to any questions we had. The private pool and spa were delightful. The hosts are attentive in every way. I was arriving much later than I planned, had a few issues with my map directions, it was very dark and Gill actually came outside & flagged me down. It is easy to find….. Gil offered late night food & snacks while wine was chilled in the refrigerator.🥂great dining recommendations, & suggestions about town were helpful. This is a great place! Gil and Stan, the owners were easy to communicate with and bc they were out of town when we arrived, they arranged a friend of theirs to meet us, show us the place and Paul even have us recommendations of great cafes, restaurants and sights to see. The rental is very comfortable, the pool area is fun and just cool, and the screened-in porch/patio is great esp bc it has a gas fireplace that warms the whole room on cool/cold pms. This was our first time in Palm Springs and we really liked it. We hope to return in Nov/Dec and stay at Stan and Gil’s place again.

This very chic, artistically decorated cabana is perfect for a couple wanting to stay in an authentic Palm Springs neighborhood just minutes away from the shops, restaurants and bars. The pool house within the grounds of a larger house was incredibly beautiful and comfortable.
