1901 Hermoupolis

Great location in the heart of Ermoupolis. Immaculate room in terms of cleanliness. Very tastefully decorated with a vintage feeling.They were very flexible concerning our check-in and check-out times since the next and previous guests were coming and leaving in convenient times.

It’s less than a 5 minute walk to the main square, so, the location is good. It’s close to many good restaurants and shops. However, although Ermoupoli is probably the prettiest town in the Cyclades, it is also probably the most hilly. Be prepared to climb a lot of steps. The trade off is great views of the sea.

The only thing that could be improved is more shelf space for clothes.

Wonderful place : I had room with view to roofs of houses in the city and the sea with lights of shipyard. Really beautiful!! I like so much this kind of old houses: the style! Perfect! The owner Roberto was so friendly! I had big luggage, Ermoupoli is a full of stairs: Roberto helped me on the way from the ferry to appartment and later to the port, to my ferry! Big thank you once more!

Nothing! Everything was absolutely perfect!

We liked that she organised a person to drive us back to the ferry.

I didn’t read between the lines. I saw that the square was 200m away and didn’t realise the steps that would take us there. Walked from the ferry. There was not any offer to pick us up. GPS had fits at all the corners and lost the internet completely at one point. We went in circles and when I rang her she didn’t know where I was. I was sitting on the steps opposite her house but her sign was hidden inside the door jamb, and all the other numbers were in 30s and 40s, not 1900s. her neighbour helped me.then there was no one there cos she lives elsewhere. I needed the instructions about gates and rooms before we arrived. I didn’t get the Wi-Fi password until the next day. When I asked about a map she said use Google maps cos I wanted to find the way with the least steps down. My husband has a bad knee and taking the bags up 3 million steps hurt it. Not helpful. Knee so sore we couldn’t do anything the next day except go down to have dinner cos there is nothing at that level for food.Then the bath had a shower attachment but no curtain so water got everywhere even when sitting down. And we were there 3 nights and there was no servicing so the toilet bin was full. If you want to stay here get picked up. Best way for sore or older legs and knees is go right along road until it ends then down and you end up very near the church and square. We tried to find somewhere to move to but whole town was full with the run and a conference. The Hermes hotel gave me a map.
