Firriato Hospitality Cavanera Etnea Resort & Wine Experience

Nice location in the wine fields, it was an hour drive from mount Etna, due to the small roads. There is enough parking space at the location. Our room 1 was at the ground floor, no real view with a small outside terras. There is a nice pool with beds and a bar, at the pool is also the breakfast room, the breakfast has a lot of choices. There is a seperate building with a nice terras here is the restaurant for dinner. You can also do wine tasting , we did not do so so can not comment on it.

We could not immediately find the entrance to the hotel, after we parked our car, we might have missed some signs.

Views are stunning. Breakfast was well catered. Rooms smell absolutely divine. There was a generous bottle of wine as a gift in the room and the bathroom is well stocked. The wine experience was also super fun but could’ve done with more of a walk through the vines and more talking through the wines you’re tasting. The staff were a joy, Raki in particular was a highlight of our time there. The pool and gym is gorgeous.

The bed was a bit rickety and made noise whenever you turned over in the night. It’s possible to see into some of the rooms while walking past.

This property has amazing views and an excellent restaurant. The room was very comfortable

Upon arriving, not clear where to register. The golf cart needed to carry our bags was out of commission, and the ramp to the rooms is steep. Dinner at restaurant was poor. I had 2 filets of a small fish, one cooked perfectly, one almost uncooked. Impossible to get a servers attention, even though we were one of 3 tables occupied in the huge dining room, yet I could hear them gabbing near the kitchen. Next night went out for dinner, upon return found the gate closed, no one answered the buzzer (3 times) no one answered the phone, finally we found someone to open the gate, no one had bothered to tell us how to get in when we originally checked in. The whole place seems very sterile and not approachable.
