I had the pleasure of staying at Rethymno Hills for 8 nights, in 2 types of rooms. Both rooms were well-equipped (if something was missing, the owner was helpful and took care of it right away). The cleaning staff is thorough, the rooms were spotless. Both rooms I stayed in has sea- view which was breathtaking, and also that side of the hotel faces North, the sun doesn't reach those rooms. So in September the AC was not needed at all, however the wet clothes and towels dried slower on the balcony. Since the hotel is situated on the top of the hill, it is very quiet, which I loved. The rooms are well insulated, I couldn't hear the neighbours.
It is a family- run hotel, and the owners are very friendly and helpful and will do their best to make your stay the best possible. I highly recommend Rethymno Hills.
Not that I wasn't happy about these things, but I think it's good t know when you book here:
The location is best accessible by car, however the hotel doesn't have a designated parking lot. It can mean that if you arrive late- when the locals are also at home- you have to circle around to find a parking spot. Rethymno town is far on foot and the main street taking you there is far from being picturesque and not pedestrian- friendly at all.
There's a small beach not far from the hotel, but it is dirty, so if you want to spend some nice time by the sea, go to Rethymno beach.
There's no lift in the hotel and the stairs are narrow, take that into consideraton when packing and if you have trouble with stairs.
Sometimes the bathrooms can smell terribly because of sewage. But that is not the hotel's fault it's an unfortunate common phenomenon in that area.

Everything! The location is great, with a beautiful view of the sea from the balcony. Takes about 30 mins to walk into the old town, or you can drive in around 5 mins. 10 minute walk away from some lovely restaurants right on the beach.
The staff are amazing, very kind and welcoming. Give good advice and will look after you.
Highly recommend the property.
