Messinian Blue Sunset Sea View Villa near Kalamata

We werden hartelijk ontvangen door een attente host die vooraf helder communiceerde, contact hield voor tips en ons bij aankomst een duidelijke rondleiding gaf. De villa ligt op een prachtige locatie, net buiten het centrum, met weids uitzicht over de Golf van Messinia: ’s ochtends zagen we de zon achter ons opkomen boven de berg en ’s avonds ondergaan achter de berg aan de overkant van de baai. Het comfortabele huis, met ruime tuin, terras, veel privacy en kindvriendelijke indeling, maakte ons verblijf compleet.

Alles was goed, geen tegenvallers

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus in Top Lage in der Nähe von Kalamata (Verga). Super netter und zuvorkommender Kontakt zum Vermieter. Die komplette Abwicklung lief perfekt. Top gepflegter Garten mit herrlicher Aussicht auf die Bucht von Kalamata . Supermarkt, Bäckereien und Grillrestaurant sind in Laufnähe. Blick aus den Schlafzimmern und der Terrasse waren traumhaft. Wir werden wieder kommen.

Ein paar größere Töpfe und Pfannen wären schön für Gäste, die gerne kochen.

We liked the views from the villa, as it is near the water. The gardens are large and well manicured. Great setting. The property was clean and the beds comfortable. The host was very friendly and helpful in ensuring we had what we needed (additional towel for beach, etc) Air conditioning in the bedrooms worked well. The property felt secure and safe. The terrace was a gorgeous spot to spend time watching the sun go down in the evening with a glass of wine, and for having breakfast.

I would have expected the bathroom facilities to have been better - for the price of this villa. It's essentially a 2-bed villa, with a mezzanine in the second bedroom which may accommodate children. The main bedroom has an adequate en-suite. The other guests staying here will need to make use of a ground floor shower/bath/laundry area under the stairs which has limited headroom and is very cramped. We managed ok, but were surprised when we saw the facilities, as it required a trip up and down fairly steep stairs to use the bathroom daily and at night and not something we had anticipated. We didn't find the interior living area particularly comfortable. We appreciate many people "live outdoors" when staying at a summer holiday villa like this, but providing only a two seat lounger meant that in the evenings after dark, two other people needed to sit on rather small chairs. When entering and leaving the property via car, the entrances are "blind" and exit onto a very busy main road, and feel rather dangerous to enter and leave, though we managed it. In terms of location, the villa is great, in terms of its setting and views, it was clean, tidy and suited us generally. We had a good time for a family catch up. but the location wasn't amazing in terms of practicality for us, and for the price, we had expected a bit more functionality. We had thought we may be able to walk into Kalamata, as it is not far, however the road outside the villa does not have any footpaths and is busy and fast. Although the property is near the coast, access to the beach itself is not great, as it requires a walk along the busy road. The beach nearest the property is very narrow and pebbly with no facilities. ok for a quick dip but not to lounge on all day / day after day. Overall we enjoyed our stay in Kalamata and at the villa.

The location is right at the seaside. Not at the beach but with close access to it. it has a beautiful view of the bay and an ideal spot for sunsets. A coffee store and mini market with the essentials just across the street and an amazing fish restaurant only a few minutes away made the stay super convenient. our host Panos was always available and gave us great tips on things to do in and around Kalamata. we traveled with 3 adults and a 1 year old. while the house is not ideal for toddler our hosts made it most accessible with a baby travel bed and took all our needs into account.
