I travel for work for a living and I’ve used VRBO plenty of times. I’ve never been asked when my ETA is or when I’d be entering the home. I was working the day we got there and got three messages about letting the host know my ETA and when I’d be in the house. I wasn’t able to provide an accurate time as I was working. So I let them know once I was there. The odd thing was is they knocked on my door about 10 minutes after my arrival. It kind of felt invasive and lack of privacy. I find out that he lives right next door and will need to be in the garage the next day. Overall it was just odd. I book vrbo so we don’t get bothered or have the host show up unannounced. But he was kind and the property was great it just felt odd.

This is a beautiful house that has been well taken care of. Access to I-70 is nearly immediate but far enough away to provide nighttime quiet. The property owner lives next door and is quick to respond. He worked with a small issue we had with the doggie door and it was handled within 15 minutes.The beds were super comfortable. You can sink into the couch. Full House access.

We stayed here for a college graduation. The place was perfect for our family and grandparents. Loved the main living area for hanging out together. Rooms were spacious and nice that everyone had their own space.

Overall ok enough. Location was where we wanted mostly, the house is bare bones effort on decor, if I had to describe it, goodwill sheek.. Tge house reeked of cat urine upon entering and lasted.. come to find out, the washing machine was completely disgusting with animal hair, human hair, crusty grime- and the urine smell was also coming from it. The toilet paper holders were at the floor in every bathroom. Zero throw pillows, most of the mattresses were worthless and need replacement. Sheets miss matched, towels need replacement and are musty. The shower curtains, stained.. the floor boards need a complete overhaul. Kitchen lacks decent pans and such. Plenty of silverware. Front and back doors no such privacy, open large windows on each with no curtain to provide privacy. No curtains at all in home. Dust/hair balls everywhere. I ended up cleaning out the washer so it could be usable. I also had to clean out the disgusting bathroom sink drains, too clogged up with hair and chunks of idk what. Bed pillows and blankets were old and not in good shape. Tv and stereo covered in thick dust. The owner had messaged about meeting before and after our stay which we all found very odd, he also messaged about the garage door being open during our stay, it appeared to have a little glitch and opened (or was opened ) while we were out. This could be a great place if it was clean and updated a bit. Overall I wouldn’t stay again unless it’s overhauled

The house was in a perfect location for what we needed. The layout of the house was terrific. The kitchen could stand to be stocked a little better, especially with silverware and dinnerware. Plenty of cookware, even had a crockpot, which came in handy. We had a lot of game nights and the dining table was perfect! We also were able to park in the garage, so that was a big plus!

This is a beautiful and spacious home, with a nice sized fenced back yard - great for me, my husband and our dogs. It would easily & comfortably accommodate more people, and everyone would still have space for privacy & to relax. The kitchen and linen closets were well stocked. We had every comfort. And it was just minutes from Colorado School of Mines, which was our main reason for visiting the area. Tom was the perfect host.

Spacious! Every room was large. Main area was open, with cathedral ceilings. Well-appointed kitchen. Very nice sectional in living room. Might want to consider adding a couple of side chairs or recliners. Being able to park in the garage was a bonus. Tom responded quickly at check-in and check-out, and there were no problems during our stay.

This is our second visit. We are from NH and have adult daughters in Colorado. The house has comfortable beds, nice bathrooms and kitchen. A fenced in back yard for dogs. A large driveway for 3-4 cars plus a garage if you choose to park inside. Close to the highway and grocery and other shopping.

My husband, myself and my granddaughter (age 7) stayed at this property to celebrate Thanksgiving with my son and fiance. The house was bright, spacious, warm, and clean. We had everything we needed to make a wonderful Thanksgiving; the kitchen is well-stocked, even a slow cooker, which came in very handy. Tom was easy to communicate with and obliged an early check-in and late check-out. There are grocery stores and restaurants in close proximity to the property and a lovely hiking trail right around the corner. Tom also permitted my son to bring his dog. Overall, a great stay and we would stay again!

My family and I stayed for a little over a week before my daughter moved into her dorm at CSM. The house had plenty of space for our family of six. The beds were comfortable, and the internet was fast allowing me to work remotely for a few days. It is a ten minute drive to CSM campus. I would gladly stay again.

This house was super cute, however many things were missing and misrepresented. First of all, it was advertised as being in Golden, and while it was close to Golden in miles, the actual neighborhood was way more junky than the quaint Golden, proper. It was obvious that the bare minimum was given in relation to the furniture, decor, and cooking utensils....there was art with broken glass, a coffee table that was flimsy, and many not-so-gently used, cheap dishes etc. Also the kitchen drawers were dirty! In fact, the whole house seemed like it needed a good deep cleaning, which is a far cry from the professed luxury that was advertised. Also, it was advertised that all the bedrooms were spaciously spread out over the house, but in fact two of the bedrooms were right next door to one another. The bedspreads were cheap blankets, with no formal comforters. Within day 2 of our 4 night stay we ran out of toilet paper, and the soap dispensers were dilluted with water which squirted everywhere. Some of the good qualities: the house itself had a spacious master suite, there were plenty of windows, and it also had a nice big back yard. The property has huge potential, but was definitely missing many of the luxury touches that would be expected for the price.

The house was spacious and clean for five adults, three small children, and three dogs. The fenced backyard was perfect for the dogs, too. The beds were very clean and comfortable and I liked that there were portable fans in each bedroom, too. Tom was there to provide any information or supplies that we needed. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience.

We had a wonderful stay in Golden! Tom was a great host. Quiet neighborhood, a very comfortable and clean home. Beds were very comfy! All the linens and towels you would need too. The home was perfect for our Denver family and visiting family to spend time together and prepare our meals in a beautiful and modern kitchen. The fenced yard was a plus for our grand kids and puppy. This property is perfect for Red Rocks adventures and more. It served as a great home base for all of our activities, including a day trip to Mt. Evans. It’s one mile from the Colorado Mills mall, with lots of stores and restaurants. Tom was way to communicate with and even though he was next door he gave us lots of privacy. I highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

We both work remotely and needed a place that would allow dogs. This place was perfect. The wifi was able to handle two people on video calls all day and the large fenced yard was great for the dogs. Lots of space and multiple rooms to spread out. The host lives next door, so when the ceiling sprung a leak from the intense storms we've been having, he was over within 2 minutes to fix it. One thing to note is that the water is either hard or well water. Either way, you don't want to drink it. The host had bottles of water in the fridge but you might want to buy some of your own.

If you are looking for the closest thing to 'home away from home' in Colorado, then this is it. A nice, quiet neighborhood with glimpses of the mountains from the front window. The pleasant interaction with Mr. LaRocque at check-in made us feel very welcome upon arrival. Walking into the house was an absolute pleasure. Spacious and clean with every amenity you may need available. Fresh linen in all bedrooms, amazing modern kitchen with cupboards stocked with basic necessities, and beautiful bathrooms (we were especially thrilled with the master bathroom). This property is in close proximity to pretty much any store you need to visit. There are a lot of restaurant options close by. Our fur baby was just as thrilled with his space, especially the back yard. Mr. LaRocque was a most gracious host and we benefitted greatly from his all his recommendations. This will always be our 'home address' when visiting Colorado. The Payne Family..... visited 12/27/2020-01/02/2021
