Château de la Gaude

The hotel generously upgraded us and the room was really excellent. The maitre d, Elise, and the rest of the front desk were fantastically helpful. The wine tasting with Guillaume was also very good fun and he very kindly offered us a sneak peek into the cellar. They have an incredible wine selection too. The hotel offers a wide variety of spaces to relax and enjoy a meal or drink. The pool lady was also extremely attentive and helpful.

The restaurant and breakfast service (aside from dinner at La source) was terribly slow and inattentive. To the point that we gave up eating at the hotel and went elsewhere as it was too much effort to waste time and correct mistakes they made. The cleaning staff also opened my fiancées wedding dress and removed the protective paper covering for some unexplained reason. Note it’s not the easiest if you have lots of luggage. It is hard to unload your vehicle as the cobbles are everywhere and don’t allow for trolleys to get to your room.

Beautiful property, with exceptional staff. A choice of lovely restaurants. Nothing was too much trouble. We will certainly be back.

Exquisite property, exceptional staff, beautifully restored and maintained. Took us on a golf cart tour upon our arrival. Stayed at a rustic cottage amid grapevines - tiny but perfect - with a fantastic shower and high end French shower gel, shampoo, lotion, etc.

Totally botched our only dinner at the facility. It began well, but kitchen fouled up and we didn’t receive our main courses for about 1 1/2 hours. For a facility of this caliber - completely unacceptable. Our waiter disappeared - we enlisted another one to help. They comped our entrees and dessert, which was lovely - but they need to get their act together. Turned out only night at this incredible chateau.

Beautiful property

Lacked atmosphere. Not enough loungers at the pool for residents. Very expensive. 38 degrees C and 9 euros for a bottle of water is extortionate. We booked a deluxe room and were out in an annex away from the main property in a lovely room but it had no view and no outside space. It was not good value.
