Coquet View Apartment

Great location at foothill of castle. Spacious, bright, plainly but nicely furnished. Constant hot water, large towels and warm during a cold spell. Wi-fi is a problem but this was quickly sorted by management with alternative connection. It is an old building.

Shower in a bath with very high side which could provide a problem for a guest with even minor mobility problems. On request provided with a mat which prevented slipping and helped. Suggested providing a step / handle up to bath - hope management act on this. Kitchen badly in need of deep clean to meet health and safety expectations - especially the very greasy hob (particularly at the back), kettle and toaster. Very mixed crockery and knives and forks should be replaced. The shelf above the radiator to be fixed. These points have been highlighted in previous reviews and would involve minimal expenditure.

Fabulous views. Separate lounge and kitchen was great. Hosts were happy to accommodate a midweek linen change

Wifi signal was very poor/nonexistent. Even lost the TV one day. Dining area was poorly lit. Placement of bidet made accessing the bath difficult. Fridge door should be changed round to stop clashing with kitchen door. Lack of storage space for clothes in the bedrooms.

Lovely location, good facility.

Long climb up 3 flights with a load pf stuff for self catering, and there was some smell from the kitchens. The bed was very low.
