Sozopol Private Apartments St. Marina

Really homely furnished apartment - spacious and cozy. Very quiet, secluded and green. Had a fantastic time. Brisk walk away from the parking (needs extra arrangement). Never needed to use the valet service to get here or there. A lovely place. The caretaker was very responsive and even called us and arranged for the handover of a left item.

The apartment is ok, large and with everything, location not so great. The reviews said great place, but didn't say the rest, because guess what, I have a much nicer apartment at home and it's not that expensive. Host is nice, too, helped me to get a parking place, because, as you can imagine, the parking is not free, it's 15 leva per day.

Parking - The owner found a free spot a mile away from where I was staying, left the car there and took it back when I left. I booked that villa only because it was saying free parking so I paid a lot of money for nothing. Location - We are talking about a resort in the middle of nowhere. You get to the beach in 800 m (Zlatna Ribka is the best of Sozopol), but from the reception. From the villa with the apartment better say 1,5 km or more for a decent spot. Same with the distance to Sozopol or anywhere else. Transportation - you have a bus the goes to town five or six times a day (2.5 leva) and taxi. Inside the resort some golf carts might carry you around, because when returning from the beach the way is uphill, climb stairs etc for more than one km until you reach the villa. All these are hush hush at the reception, I had to ask three times to finally find out the way things are happening. Advice - If you like spending your holiday in a resort buildt on a hill, with three small pools, three restaurants and a small supermarket, all made for captive clients, go there and watch old ladies walking their dogs. If you want to see Sozopol, which is a great town, with great beaches and beautiful sea say a hard pass and choose something else, there are a lot of places, cheaper and way better. I personally regret my choice. I wanted to spend time in the city of Sozopol, on the beach, not walking around for hours with my tongue out as an exhausted dog. A waste of time and money that was.
