About this cottage rental
Beautifully restored and elegrantly furnished old stone mas with a lovely garden and large private swimming pool, in the open countryside between the picturesque villages of Madremanya and Monells, in the most exclusive area of the Amporda region and close to the area's best restaurants and most beautiful beaches.
The house has an indoor surface of around 250m2 and is built on 2 floors. On the ground floor, there is a large entrance hall; a spacious living-dining room with a fireplace and a dining area with a table for 10 and direct access to the terrace, with an outdoor dining table also for 10; a comfortable family room with a large screen tv; a modern and fully equipped kitchen; and a guest toilet. On the first floor there is a master bedroom with a bed of 160cm and its own bathroom with bath tub and shower; another double bedroom with 2 single beds that can be united; another double bedroom with 2 single beds, and that serves as a passage to the back part of the house; another full bathroom with a shower; and in the back part, which can also be accessed directly from outside, there are another 2 double bedrooms, each with a 150cm double bed, and another full bathroom with a shower. One of the rooms of this back part has air conditioning. The other 4 bedrooms, which don't receive direct sun and cool down well at night, all have ceiling fans.
The house stands on a large private property of 15.000m2, in the middle of the open country side and without neighbours close by. Around the house is a well-kept garden with a lawn, and a great fenced swimming pool of 12x6m. with a pool house and comfortable deck chairs.
Next to the house is a covered and shady terrace with an outdoor dining table for 10.
To book the house with access to all rooms, please send a booking request for 10 guests to obtain the correct price. In low season, we offer a reduced rental fee for groups of up to 6 guests, without access to the back part of the first floor, which remains closed and empty, and with use of 3 of the 5 bedrooms and 2 of the 3 bathrooms, at the rental fee corresponding to up to 6 guests.

Mas Blau is a great place to stay. We were 5 adults and 4 children and the house has plenty of room to socialise, or find your own bit of space to relax. The pool is great with the trees giving shade on one side of the pool and full sun on the other. The house is far away from the neighbours with fields all around so it felt like you had the whole of Spain to yourself in the evenings. There are a choice of supermarkets 9 mins away. We took the train to Barcelona which was 90 mins but delivered you straight into the centre of the city. We loved this house and grounds and highly recommend it.

We had a marvellous one week holiday at Mas Blau. The house is excellent (clean, cosy and with excellent facilities) and provided everything that our family needed to have a very relaxing week. Our boys loved the pool and the spacious (and from our point of view, very well-fenced) gardens and we enjoyed relaxing in a countryside setting watching the birdlife (especially the Hoopoe's). We didn't venture out too much but when we did found the local villages easy to reach with a number of good restaurants/bars. Despite a small hitch with the check in-process, this was soon rectified with prompt and effective communication with the host and action from the housekeeping team (who were also very keen to be helpful and to provide a warm welcome to the house and area). All in all, we thoroughly recommend Mas Blau and hope to return ourselves for another relaxing holiday in a lovely home.

My extended family spent 2 weeks at the property in March and had a wonderful time. The property is quiet and picturesque, and the house is spacious and enjoyable to spend time in. It was very clean upon check-in and well equipped.
The children loved playing in the yard and in the pool. The countryside is beautiful and I can't think of a better place to be if you like cycling (the Volta a Catalunya literally passed by the house). There are plenty of charming little towns to visit, and any shopping/grocery needs are within a 12-minute drive.
The property manager was very responsive when we had any questions about the house or needed something. We would go back.
