Hermes Beach Front

Lovely location in the beachfront apartment. Close enough to some of the busier areas for our teenagers to walk to whilst just far enough away to be on the peaceful part of the beach. Staff were all helpful, room and area outside was meticulously cleaned and we were well looked after. Taxis to/from the airport (Chania) were arranged for us for €40 each way. Great base to explore Crete from, perfect beach location and a good range of restaurants and bars within short walking distance.

Nothing to do with the apartment but a strong northerly wind resulted in a steep chop (waves) for which the lifeguards closed to beach to swimming for 3 days. The lifeguards said this happens reasonably often. There were rips, the surf was steep (not big), and young kids would have struggled but for adults and 'big kids (ours 16 and 18) it was frustrating not to be able to go and play in the surf. Had they let everyone swim, it would have resulted in small kids being tumbled and hurt or washed out in the surf so it was right to close it but be aware the beach may be closed to swimming at this location.

The accommodation had everything we needed. The Seaview in our studio was the best you could possibly get. You wouldn't hear any noise. All you can hear is the beautiful sound of the waves. AC functioning perfectly as well as mosquito nets very useful in Crete. There's a mini fridge with a small freezer compartment as well as cutleries. We were met with nice treats in our room. The bus to go to town (about 13-15 mins long) is right outside the accommodation. Many restaurants and cafes are also nearby if you want to stay in stalos kato instead of going to town. There's also a nice fruit shop very close by. Daily cleaning and replacement of towels. Very friendly staff. We loved everything and would 100% recommend it to everyone.

What I loved most was the beach — it’s absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and never feels crowded. When you open the window, all you can hear is the sound of the waves, which is incredibly relaxing. The garden and outdoor area are so well maintained and inviting that you hardly feel the need to go anywhere else. The whole place has a calm, serene atmosphere that makes it very easy to unwind and enjoy the surroundings.

The room was spacious, clean and and the kitchenette was well equipped. We loved the garden and having the beach so close, especially for the toddler. Besides this, there was the pool from the other Hermes hotel, which was perfect.

Stalos is not an animated location. Nothing negative about the location.
