Taman Simalem Resort

The hotel is located on the top of the crater and has amazing views. I think we were the in low season as most looked closed. The rooms are pretty worn down but they seem to be fixing more the gardens… as the hotel is far from other things we ate there and the food was good and good priced. But not sure the actual accommodation is worth the price. You are paying for the big property and all the gardens.

On the expensive side for what you get for the room

ご飯のクオリティはあまり期待しないほうがいい。部屋に冷蔵庫はない。

The facility is huge, so much to see and everywhere you look, a new scenery!

It is a bit of a hassle to get to the hotel.

The breathtaking view was above my expectation. Trekking to the waterfall was also great and we were lucky we spotted a siamang on the tree above us. We'd like to walk around but too afraid of the wild monkeys.

1. We arrived for checked in and waited to be escorted to the room. Then a big group came for check in, too. We were forgotten and were abandoned for quite a while. I almost blew up because we were so tired driving for almost 5 hours from Kuala Namu airport but didn't have a smooth check in to our room. 2. Staying in a huge resort with no clue of what to do or go was very frustrating. They expected us to understand everything from their website. Some things were not practical at all. 3. So many surprises that testing our emotion during the 4 days stay. 4. Checking out was not smooth either! Took me 30 minutes for their mistake. POV the staff aren't trained well to run the beautiful resort.
