Corolla captures the spirit of the Outer Banks. From the wild horses roaming the beaches to the historic Currituck Lighthouse guiding sailors home, this coastal town blends natural beauty with modern conveniences. With a variety of restaurants, attractions, and outdoor activities, Corolla offers everything you need for a memorable vacation while still holding onto the charm and character of the old OBX.
True to its name, The Blue Heron will greet you with its beautiful Carolina blue exterior. The home is a delight for all ages, with its bright decor and charming colors. Spanning three interior and exterior levels, there is plenty of room for everyone to claim their own spot. From the intimate lounge on the first level to the crow's nest way up on the third level, there are plenty of special spaces for the whole group.
Surely, though, the whole group will gather together at the 12 x 26 pool in the backyard. There are plenty of Adirondack chairs and loungers. Even a picnic table if you feel like dining al fresco! Take a dip in the bubbling hot tub and feel all your cares melting away...
Again, the third level Great Room will surely serve as the central gathering space for the group. Whip up a snack or a full meal in the kitchen, enjoy the view out the breakfast nook window or watch your favorite movie or TV show in the great room with wall-mounted TV.
The Blue Heron is just a quick 3-block walk to the wide sandy beaches of Corolla. Be sure to spend some quality family time enjoying nature at its very finest. There's nothing like the aquamarine waters and sugary sands of the Outer Banks. Memories made here are forever.

*The Blue Heron is pet-friendly, so there is no need to leave your pooch at home! For a limited time, the pet fee is waived at this property. A $185 value! You can bring up to two dogs to our pet-friendly property. No cats or other animals, dogs only.*
**Private unheated pools will open on April 16th and close on October 1st. Hot Tubs are available year-round. Pools and hot tubs are cleaned weekly and no later than 6pm on check-in day. Vendors are subject to enter backyard to clean the pool and/or spa on scheduled cleaning days. No pets allowed in pools.**
Check-In begins at 4pm. Your keyless entry code will begin granting access at this time.
Check-Out is 10am.

Check-in was very easy. House was dirty, you could tell it was quickly cleaned but really needed a deep clean. The interior had dust and cobwebs only primary surfaces were cleaned. The carpet had a lot of dog hair on it from past guests and left your feet black. The vacuum there barely worked and there was no cleaning spray to touch up. The kitchen did have everything you needed however it was a unorganized hodgepodge of old leftover stuff. The kitchen cabinets were dripping with grease and grime. The exterior was hard to use with the amount of giant cobwebs all around including the exterior bathroom. I really wish there was a broom I would have cleaned up all the cobwebs and swept all of the pine needles around the pool. With all this being said we would rent this property again the location was awesome a dead end street within walking distance of the beach entrance. The bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for our group. Now I know though to bring my own cleaning supplies and what I'm getting into, I would need to spend an afternoon cleaning it so that we could have really enjoyed it.

Loved the location and house. My son really enjoyed feeding the turtles! The only thing I would recommend is additional pest control. The flies, ants, and spiders made it difficult to enjoy the pool area at times.

We walked to the beach everyday of our trip, what a great location! It was also a great layout for family and friends, all of the bedrooms had their own bathrooms and the “hangout/common” areas were also well spread. The house can easily accommodate 8 or more comfortably! We would recommend for your next OBX vacation!Pro tip: The Kees vacations company must not monitor their VRBO inbox though so if you need to get in touch with them you’ll want to call their office directly instead of using the app messaging.
