Casa da Belavista

All and all the property is Ok. It is a very old building that was updated to accommodate an Air bnb apartment. Living area and kitchen are very roomy and well equipped, plenty of storage for clothing. Location is superb, for walking and public transportation. Parking (although a bit tricky - on a slanted steep small space) was included. Ac works well. Host was an excellent communicator and happy to assist.

Here are some realities that for some might not be an issue, for us it was. Access to the apartment is up a very steep incline almost imposible to reach by car. After entering the mutual gate with other units, you go down a steep flight of narrow stairs. The apartment may have been updated but it is very dated and could use some upgrades or updates all areas. The bed is very small, (Although listed as such, but still, uncomfortable). Bathroom sink and bathtub could be replaced as they are very old and it shows, mirror is very old and has stains and marks, grout shows some molds. Faucets work, but again, they are very old and feel like they are about to fail. Although there is no bad smell or mold, the unit give a stuffy, cave like unpleasant dampness, we kept the AC running the whole time. I would recommend to replace all linens and towels and pillows to brand new, replace bed to larger and get rid of some of the old pots and pans. Replace mirror in bathroom, add some storage in bathroom and make sure that the toilet seat fits properly. No nearby grocery store.

Everything we liked so much, location, the space and design of the apartment. No doubts, we would stay there again.

location was perfect, transportation - restaurants - grocery stores

linens, old and holey, cat urine smell (aired out a couple of days, not so prominent) although owner said no cat.
