Pension Pîrîu' Morii

The pension is in a great place away from the chaos, a real oasis that becomes increasingly difficult to find. Everything is new and that can be seen easily. Rooms are of a good size, the views are spectacular, it is really hard to find something to complain about in terms of location and amenities/facilities.

Well, our bad luck was that the pension hosted an event in the evening when we stayed ("cumetrie" for those who are curious of the Romanian word). This meant that the whole room and lobby were full of fried smells and scents and that inevitably trickled in our room either from outside the balcony or from the lobby. On top of that, we had to enjoy some "great" Romanian songs played in the high dB zone. We complained... but we were told that we will need to wait until the "cumetrie" is over (and it was... around 1-2 am). I mean.. this could be called our bad luck but should we knew what we are getting into, we would have certainly booked a different place. Ventilate the lobby when cooking for God's sake! We also like pork meat but only when it is dinner time and certainly not when we are in bed and trying to sleep after a long day of travels. Plus, that "new" building smell is being quickly replaced by the not so great smell of "old" kitchen.

Curatenia

Beautiful location, secluded, in the middle of the forest, fresh air, great quality breakfast (home made sour milk, jams, etc.) Very friendly staff.

The view of the forest on one side of the hotel is somewhat obstructed by the two buildings in front, but then you can always step out and literally be in the middle of nature in all its beauty.

A guesthouse located in a beautiful setting next to the forest, with a very nicely landscaped garden. There are no nearby properties, so the area is exceptionally quiet. The room was quite spacious and clean. Even though we arrived a bit later and the staff may have been tired after a long day, we would have appreciated a slightly more relaxed and welcoming attitude from the reception and restaurant staff. That said, I do not fully blame them, as we also decided rather late to have dinner (around 8:40 PM, considering that the kitchen was closing at 9:00 PM).

Although the mattress was comfortable, the pillows were very firm. It would be helpful to replace them or offer two different pillow options to better accommodate guests’ preferences.
