Ryokan Beniayu

Prachtige ryokan met een schitterend uitzicht over het meer. Ze zijn ontzettend gastvrij en je wordt echt in de watten gelegd. We hadden een kamer met privé Onsen maar ook de gezamenlijke Onsen is erg mooi. Er zijn kimono's en yukata en handdoeken in overvloed. Veel kleine gastvrije details zoals de speciale sokken op je kamer bij aankomst. Het eten ziet er prachtig uit en is erg lekker. Je kunt zien dat overal zorg aan wordt besteed. Bonus was de korte excursie in de avond naar de vuurvliegjes een leuke onderbreking.

The room was very large (high ceiling with a loft), although every room has a different layout. Comfortable futons, outdoor private onsen bath on the verandah and a luxurious massage chair. Staff were very courteous and considerate. Onsen was nice (& not busy). All the food was wonderful, including a complimentary lunch which was also provided. The view was beautiful - so serene. Although a distance from the train, we were collected and dropped off at the station. Although not cheap, it was good value when you add in the meals, the transport and high quality accommodation. Communication prior to arrival was also good.

Wonderful staff, spacious rooms with in room onsen bath overlooking Lake Biwa. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were beautifully presented and so delicious. Would definitely come back again. They offer pick up and drop off at Takatsuki Station.
