Very good stay!

One of the best service experiences at a Holiday Inn Express. We have stayed at other Holiday Inn Express hotels before, but the Amsterdam branch truly stood out. Special mention to Victor at the reception, who did an excellent job and made our stay even better. The rest of the staff were also professional and helpful. Great location, and the breakfast was good.

A disappointing experience 😕

I did find a few positive aspects during our stay. The staff were genuinely kind and friendly. Although many basic items were missing from the room, the hotel did at least provide a kettle, some teabags, and instant coffee. It also helped that there were a few supermarkets very close by.

I honestly do not understand why this hotel has such a high rating. It is very expensive compared to many other hotels that offer far better quality. The room was small and very basic. There was no fridge, no safe, no closet. The bathroom also had an unpleasant smell. Despite what many reviews claim, the breakfast was poor and offered very few choices. We paid a high price but received service and quality far below average. Overall, a disappointing experience. You can find much better options in better locations for a lower price. The rating does not reflect the real quality of this place.

Good location but dirty bathroom

It is located close to the tram that gives access to city center. Not so many restaurants around. The room was a good size.

The bathroom was dirty. The toilet was dirty. The common areas were also not cleaned regularly. They came to nock on our door two hours before the check out time.

Convenient location for the start of the marathon which was my reason for staying. Close to a tram stop which gets you into the city. Friendly stay. Room clean and tidy.

Overall, everything was okay and the free breakfast was a nice bonus. The hotel is clean and comfortable, with friendly service.

The only drawback is the location — it’s quite far from the city center. Although there’s a nearby station, I often ended up using taxis to save time during my stay.

My biggest regret of my Amsterdam vacation!

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. Last year everything was perfect. This year everything is terrible and disgraceful. I didn't like anything!!

I couldn't understand how things had gotten so bad in just one year. The towels were torn, the carpets on the floor smelled bad, and even though I specifically requested a nice room, I was given a small, nasty one. The breakfast was a disaster. The salmon, Tony's milk, Nutella, and cheeses had all been removed. I asked the staff at breakfast for Nutella chocolate, and they said, "They're only for kosher!" THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS RACISM! Can't Muslims ask for halal things? Disgraceful. I will never stay at this hotel again.

The Breakfast was great and had a lot of variety. The beds were also really comfortable

All in all we are really unimpressed by this Hotel. Our TV and haifdryer did not work. The Walls and carpet were dirty and stained. The shower head was leaking. The Toilette paper felt like sand paper.... this is not a 4 Star hotel for me. More like a Motel

was an excellent stay

the breakfast was good, not what we are used to but was lots of options. the room was lovely and clean and very posh looking for the price. our rooms were next to each other which was exactly what we wanted. the staff were lovely and so helpful with any questions we needed answering. the free drinks were lovely for not needing our rooms cleaned every day to be greener.

the room next to us checked in at gone midnight and were very loud when trying to sleep on our last night but that’s a problem with the guests not staff.

Well located, friendly and comfortable.

One of the reception staff went out of her way to accomodate us when we arrived a little early for check-in. She made us feel like the hotel valued us as customers. I think her name was Anastasia. She is a credit to IHG.

+ Breakfast was very good, beds were super comfortable and the room/hallways were quiet and clean. + Staff was also nice and helpful :) + Location couldn't have been better, very close to the airport and it was easy to get from Amsterdam Zuid station to the hotel via tram.

- A small fridge in the room would have been nice, also there was no toilet brush in the bathroom which was a bit weird.

Make the shower less ambiguous please!

I like the friendliness of the staffs, as well as the breakfast. My meetings are located mostly on VU Amsterdam, so it's only a 5 minutes tram ride. Furthermore, I don't have any problems with the internet connection. Finally, the beds are comfortable, and my room was located not too far from the stairs.

The shower. It took me almost scalding myself and calling the receptionist to be able to turn off the shower. Also it looked like the heating system of the shower did not work perfectly. It intermittently gave me a very hot water, making bathing less comfortable.

A nice and comfortable stay!

When I arrived there was a problem with the key to my room. The receptionist was apologetic and helpful. She quickly switched me to a different room without any question. The hotel staff were courteous and friendly. They were always looking to help. The Kosher breakfast was scant. But more than sufficient for me and my husband. If you are careful with Chalav Yisrael, be careful to check the labeling!

The only water available in the lobby during the day was flavored! I would have appreciated a water cooler without the extras.

Quite neighbor hood. Wonderful staff.

We were late for our check-in due to storms in Dallas, TX. They were going to charge us for the day we missed. The manager understood and took that charge off our bill. We missed a whole day of excursions due to late weather flights. Amsterdam is getting very expensive. There is a nice little convenient store 1/2 block that offered homemade meals to-go.

Breakfast, cheese and cold cuts, yogurt, some rolls, hard boiled eggs. We are just spoiled to all the bad food in America. Fifteen minute taxi ride from airport. 50 + Euros.

Overall stay was pretty decent.

Breakfast was superb. Location is perfect coz tram is literally 5mins walk from the hotel. To the city centre it takes 30 mins to be exact then you’ll Have to change metro from Amsterdam Zuid. Staffs are alright but they should be more efficient and concentrate on good quality customer service.

Last day of our stay the housekeeping staff messed the bedroom bedsheets were very much messed up exactly the same condition like when we left the room. Pillows were near the sofa. We opted for double bedroom. We were given twin bed. That’s a big negative for a such a big hotel brand. It will impact their reputation and business as well.

Was good enough

Location is good, easy to get to by public transportation from the aiport, some 30 minutes and you are there. The hotel is good, easy to be found, clean, i would say, i may return back for another stay. The breakfast was of my concern. Very limited choice of food, i have had 2 breakfasts there, coffee is bad, eggs, i guess, 2 types of salami, cheese and buns. Fruit salad was untasty. The guests were suggested several time slots for breakfast, on the other day upon arrival to the eating area, we had to eat in front of the reception desk on a small table, very uncomfy and awkward, as there were many people and no tables, no space available. I think, it should be considered by the hotel, too.

The rooms are nice and big. The beds are comfortable. The shower is great. It was nice and quiet.

It's a bit far from central amsterdam, but you can take a tram and a train to the centre. The breakfast was included but we skipped it the second day as it didn't meet our expectations on the first day. It's limited in terms of options.
