These scaled-down, business class "hotels" typically provide a business class traveler experience and this one was no different. The food they offered in the evening at the "restaurant" were very limited but appreciated as we were too tired to go out for dinner. What we did order was pretty darn tasty! The wine offering was horrific, however, and I know better and will bring my own wine if I ever stay at one of these places again. This area is literally in the middle of wine country and it is completely insulting that the house Chardonnay was pretty much undrinkable and again, in the middle of wine country to be out of a better Chardonnay shows that management was not paying attention. I thought it was ridiculous that the same young man who was cooking our food was also bartending and checking people in. Two people literally run this place in the evening. The kids do a good job but with money spent on another couple of employees, speed of service could be greatly improved. After all, how many jobs can one person do at one time? The room was okay, not what I'd call a "suite" that I thought I booked, but the bed was comfy, the bathroom okay, not great but okay (no extras for sure; like a makeup mirror would be helpful! Nearly every other place we stayed on our trip had a makeup mirror for ease of shaving and being ablt to SEE when using makeup...) And my biggest complaint with this class of rooms is lack of light. This room was a bit dark after sunset and that could be better--add some lighting, but the window treatments allowed for pretty good light during the day. Nice people running the place--they tried really hard to please. They do the best they can do when doing 3 jobs at once! BOTH of them...Good breakfast. Well done there. Horrible coffee both at breakfast and we didn't even try the cheap coffee setup in the room. When everyone else has a Keurig, this old school coffee situation was unacceptable.
