Ginger Dona Paula, Goa

Great value. My friends and I liked our rooms which had a comfortable bed, plenty of space, fridge, plenty of storage space, good air conditioning, also a ceiling fan which I didn’t need to use. The staff (especially Danish) were delightfully helpful and the meals I had at the venue were fine, as were the cheap meals at Cafe Paprika nearby. The Kamats supermarket had all the supplies we needed at low prices, a few minutes walk away. One of my friends forgot to bring an adaptor, so the staff somehow adapted his room so a socket could fit his charger. I swam a few laps in their swimming pool. We were attending a conference at the five star Taj which was a short walk away via a shortcut which the Ginger staff told us about. Other than the massive price differential, another advantage of staying at Ginger (rather than at the Taj) was that there’s no food shop at the Taj which has a very long driveway in and out. When the rains came, the Ginger staff arranged cheap taxis for us. So we got everything we wanted, without paying a lot. The only things the Taj had that Ginger didn’t are great views and five star touches which I don’t need. To get to any beach from Ginger, I think you’d need a car or taxi, but that wasn’t relevant to us.
