Hotel Tihany Átrium

The hotel is just in front of the lake; however, you need to walk a bit to access a public pool. There are not many choices of reasonable restaurants nearby, but the hotel itself offers snack options at reasonable prices. The breakfast was magnificent. It takes a good 20-minute hilly walk to the Centrum, which may be an issue for some but not for those accustomed to hiking with a beautiful view. Buses are present, but rarely.

I paid extra for the lake view but was a bit disappointed to find out that it was largely hidden by the trees. The facilities may have provided some glasses, and the walls were not very soundproof. The room definitely needs a curtain to cut out the morning sun.

Hotel is located next to the Balaton part, 2 mins walk from Plage 18. Hotel provided coupon for entering Plage 18 with 50% discount. Breakfast was very good, however coffee was not the best. Hotel offers parking for extra cost.

The room was not the one we booked. We got big room where from one side there were dormer windows which supposed to face the Balaton, but you can see it only if you climb up to the sofa. However, from the other side we had huge panoramic windows which faced the hotel hall. So basically the guest could watch into our room. During the night light was coming in from the hall. Also, bathroom - shower head did not work properly. Hotel is located 40 mins walk from the city centre. There are no available taxi services in Tihany, hotel helped us to order a private taxi, for which we paid 5,000 huf for 8 mins ride. Overall the hotel rooms need renovation.
