Hotel Gran Ultonia

We were on a cycling holiday and the facilites for bikes was excellent. A dedicated area for bikes with a trough for bike washing. The breakfasts were plentiful with lots of variety for hot and cold food. The staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day. Location was great with easy access to the main square and all the restaurants. Laundry service was excellent.

My only complaint would be that the room was quite dark and there were not enough room for all clothes. If the bedside table had drawers that would help. Also there was a dressing table but no mirror so not good for doing hair etc. I did, however request more hangers which were provided as were more pillows.

Room decor was spartan.

The hotel is located just outside, but very close to, the old city, where most of the main attractions and restaurants are located. The rooms are clean, and the overall hotel interior looks modern, new, and cozy. There is a car park in the basement of the hotel, although a parking fee applies. Our room was quiet, and both the mattress and pillows were very comfortable, which made for a good night’s sleep. We also had brunch at Restaurant Cafeteria Ultonia, located on the street level of the hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the food was fresh and tasty at very reasonable prices. It was actually the best breakfast we had during our one-week stay in Spain.

There is a car park in the basement of the hotel, although a parking fee applies. The entrance and turns inside the car park are quite narrow, which is common in many hotels in Spain and France. If you are renting a car, a compact car would be a better and more convenient choice. However, the front desk staff could be warmer and more welcoming.

Location, parking and able to travel with our dog. Breakfast very good for Spain.

It wasn’t so much we didn’t like it but the dining areas were very austere - canteen like. Our bedroom faced directly into a school yard and classrooms so noisier during the day.
