The location was good, the room was satisfactory.
On arrival I was informed that the kitchen was closed and no meals were available. Only after I had settled into the room and logged onto WiFi did I find an e-mail telling me of the closure, by which time it was too late to change plans. I asked the staff member in reception where I could find dinner and breakfast and the response was unhelpful. More should have been done to at least provide serial, toast, juice and tea/coffee, all of which could have been provided without a fully functioning kitchen.

Location was great just a 10/15 minutes drive or taxi into the centre. Staff were very friendly at reception and helpful. Swimming pool and facilities were nice and really good opening hours.
The main down fall was the breakfast wouldn’t advise paying for breakfast there even if included in room take an option and head out for breakfast. The food was cold, eggs looked like plastic and tasted awful. Glass were dirty, the lady on breakfast gave my children a dirty look when they requested ketchup. The breakfast room was not the cleanest either and quite cold would have rather ate in the bar.
I had my had a sock over my fire alarm which the people in the room before me must of done I had to go find a cleaner to take this down which they did straight away.

Room was clean
The room was spacious, but unfortunately there was no welcome or feeling of warmth from the staff at this hotel. I booked it for my son and his fiance for his 21st. They were not greeted at their arrival in any way. The reception member had to be prompted to speak and was unhelpful, with my son having to ask for directions to their room. The steam room wasn't working and at no point did any staff smile or communicate with them. There was no plug in the bath and no reasoning given for that. Id left a note on booking that it was for my sons 21st , and nothing was mentioned at all. It took me 20 minutes to find a number which wasn't automated to get through to reception today and was greeted with " yeah?" by the only member working on reception. No manager available until Wednesday and the chap I spoke to could barely speak English or understand me. At no point did he apologise and to be honest, this isnt the service I expected from booking and paying for a superior deluxe king room in a hotel. Bitterly disappointed and will never book a room there again. This has made me very nervous of booking with booking.com also , as I would have thought they'd have been a reputable company. I await manager calling me back Wednesday, though I don't hold out much hope for a positive response, if at all

Lovely location
I have stayed many times before and always been given a much more luxurious room so was dissapointed to be in a very basic one this time . Also I was very unwell through the night at 2am my partner went to reception to ask for a glass or a bottle of water and they wouldn’t give him one for me even though he explained I was being sick upstairs . Had to drink tap water out the sink wasn’t great

The property is lovely and a good location, the rooms were very clean and ready on arrival. We had booked a Superior King Room which was lovely.
We had booked a Superior King Room and felt that the TV should be bigger in this type of room as there is enough space for one. It would also be good if a jacuzzi could be added to the pool area for extra relaxation

Amazing to say the least. Staff very friendly especially the guy at the front desk. I think his name is Shaun. 👍👍🙏
All good

The room was warm and clean.
Booked a table for 5.45pm, we actually didn't get our food until over an hour later. There wasn't enough staff on. One young woman on her own serving at the bar, seating customers, taking orders, bringing out orders and tidying up etc
My grandson's burger was burnt black, he didn't eat it.
Soup was lukewarm and roll inedible as was too hard.
Waste of time and money. Definitely will not be back and so disappointed as it was a Xmas treat for my grandson. 👎

Absolutely fantastic, didnt want to leave, the staff were very friendly and polite. They never seemed anything but happy to help, and Shon working the desk during our stay made sure our anniversary was magical. Absolutely love this place and cant wait to return.
The 2 single matresses were a bit seperated in the middle ao we had to fix this but it made for a wonderful sleep after so cant complain.

Easy to find, clean with helpful staff (although not many of them).
Breakfast was extra, as expected. At a fixed £12.99, you need time and an appetite to get value.

The staff were very helpful but only thing that let them down was the communication between shifts. We had booked to night seperatly and asked to stay in the same room , still had to go ask the next day to book back in.
Having to book in twice into same hotel . Asked to pay for parking but it was free on my booking . Got it all sorted but bad that you have to pay for parking in a hotel your staying at.

The staff are absolutely amazing and exceptional in the service they offer. The room was big and had the most amazing bath that was fantastic to relax in. The whole venue is picture perfect. I got it on discount for a superior king room and for the sale price it was worth it. I did find the restaurant expensive and breakfast wasn't great but overall I'd highly recommend.
The breakfast food wasn't to our liking but there was more than enough to choose from.

The hotel is clean and comfortable with an older style vibe . The swimming pool and leisure facilities are very nice .
Cold breakfast room, breakfast ok but for price of room felt it could have been higher quality . Some areas in hotel need upgraded and chipped paintwork etc could do with being sorted .

Location was fine, staff were friendly and lots of amenities.
Our room was way to hot for our baby, with no thermostat in the room. Almost got charged for the paid parking, however receptionist saved the day… thanks.

I am really struaaggling to understand why this is a 4* hotel. After checking in everything went down hill. I feel this hotel has falsely advertised both accommodation and facilities available, pictures online show the old part of the original hotel and not the add on where we unfortunatelv had to stay. The carpets in general were filthy and worn in places The initial room we were given was mouldy and smelly, i brought this to reception attention who quite frankly couldnt have cared less despite telling them my partner has a chronic lung condition and my granddaughter is asthmatic, i found any interaction with the staff was met with an uncaring and unfriendly attitude. We were eventually moved the next day despite asking several times for a different room that night and available rooms showing online. Following room also had very bad odour and carpet; was bunched up in middle causing my 7yr old granddaughter to trip constantly, (couldnt avoid this as the 'family room' was very small,) this was also brought to receptionists attention but nothing was done. Windows in general were filthy and did not appear to have been cleaned in some time, curtains and drapes in room very stained and window locks broken,(we were on the second floor.) Went for dinner on the first night, food was mediocre but at least hot. There was no option for bar . snacks such as sandwiches. toasties etc unless vou wanted a muffin or crisps. The conservatory where breakfast was served was freezing cold each day we were there and food available was luke warm and sparse. By the time we were seated the food was cold. There was only one day where a breakfast staff member was at the desk in the room to greet us on our arrival, we waited 10mins+ to be seated and eventually seated ourselves. No spa treatments were available despite it being advertised as a spa hotel other than the sauna, steam room and pool.

House keeping continually knocking on the door at 9am on a Sunday morning. The body odour issue of the staff on reception. General upkeep of the building and room was poor. Food options were poor.

The location
The room smelt horrible, it’s run down and still has a shower curtain?
6.0 / 10.0
Location only.
Room offered awful. Not superior as selected on booking.com! Had to pay more for room shown in app photo. It was in old tower. Dusty old place not well cleaned hall. Deserted. Creepy. When finally up 37 steps- the suite was acceptable. Spa pool was TINY with murky water and gym equipment rusty and old. Did not live up to expectations and the lovely garden had long been neglected. Hope the new owners do better.

Good location and nice grounds
The hotel has recently changed hands and everything seems to be an extra cost now. Parking, swimming pool, gym and steam room are no longer included in the cost. The hotel is looking shabby. The carpets are worn and a bit grubby. The paint on the walls is marked and chipped. The silicone around the bath and grout on the tiles need scraped out and replaced as they are a bit mouldy. The room I was in was tiny and it’s not a particularly nice looking hotel.

Great hotel. Room was a really good size with the bed being very comfy. Dinner was delicious.
The staff were polite.
Paying for parking - It's through an external company and wouldn't expect hotel guests to have to pay for parking

Beautiful house away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Dinner at the maze restaurant was brilliant although the conservatory was not being used we were allowed to have a table there as we were a large group.
It was about £13-£15 per way into the city from the hotel.
when booking with Booking.com, we arrived to the hotel and they only had half of the reservation 2 out of 4 rooms had been booked . Thankfully, the hotel was able to still accommodate us. Eating in the conservatory was cold and we had less service as everyone seem to eat in the main building. I feel that this is such a shame due to how beautiful the conservatory is.
