James the Front Desk Receptionist Associate did an excellent job in assisting us with the need to coordinate courier services. He is a positive can-do person who was very helpful.

Highly recommend to stay

It’s a very lovely place to stay. The town is beautiful, and the house is beautiful. The host is very friendly and gentle, support us to change to a more convenient room because we took large luggage.

It’s so clean, open and airy. The accommodations were so comfortable for us. Thank you to the woman at the desk, I’m sorry to have forgotten her name, but she was a wonderful hostess. Having wine on the terrace outside of our room was excellent after a long drive. We also ate at the restaurant and we cannot say enough good things about our meal. This was the best meal we ate on our travels through France. Everything was prepared perfectly, the chef is very talented. Everything was perfect!

Sack, the ignorant manager.

Lovely hotel in a beautiful little town, lovely and clean. Reception staff Were really lovely and couldn't be helpful enough.

Hotel manager needs to be sacked immediately. Really ignorant, we had a booking for dinner and he decided we weren't having dinner and refused to give us any food Don't understand why the hotel owners don't just get rid of him as it is pulling the whole business down We would love to return, but only if we knew he had been sacked.

Definitely not worth the money

It was in the picture-postcard village of Barbizon, which was beautiful. The hotel had some character but trades on this too much.

It was a good way off the four stars advertised. There seemed to be just two staff on duty for the entire overnight stay. The gardens were not as pictured. Bedroom was nice but aircon didn’t seem to function at night. A limited breakfast was available at €21 per person.

The village is gorgeous with cobbled street and climbing roses everywhere. The Hotel was a bit grim.

Uncovered swimming pool filthy. Gardens uncared for and garden chairs dirty and very faded. Room might have had fashionable decor 15 years ago but needs upgrading. Sinks and pedestal in the bathroom coming adrift. TV hard to see as was so small. Curtains un hooked from curtain rail. Outside tubs of dead flowers and next door neighbour smoking. Spaces tired and smelt of smoke. No view from restaurant around the courtyard as windows covered in thick net curtains floor to ceiling. Food in the restaurant was very disappointing. Poor value for money and uncomfortable night. Wooden stairs up to our room looked worn and hard to hold on to the bannister.

Cleanliness needs looking at. Main toilets not clean. Room clean in some areas but others not so. Very poor for breakfast. I messaged property prior to let them know I was gluten free for breakfast. They said they didn't offer this. I explained my surprise as it's standard for hotels to cater for this at least at breakfast. When we arrived it was insisted that we fill out breakfast pre order which we ticked, both to have omlettes, both to have eggs and one to have salmon. In the morning we were given scrambled eggs and bread, crossiant etc. We asked about the omlettes and salmon. The lady spoke very little English but explained this was all we were having. They were still quick enough to charge us €22 each for breakfast. :(

A wonderful place to stay for a relaxing family holiday.

We loved the location. Just a stroll to the Art museums on the main street, the bakery and a good choice a restaurants. Beautiful garden and quiet, calm surrounds.

We just stopped off over night on a long journey back to UK from the Auvergne

The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was delicious and all at a reasonable price too. The room was clean and very quiet. Unfortunately, we did not have breakfast because we had to leave early to be on time for our ferry, but the smell of the croissants baking made us regret such an early start

Pleasant but disappointed we didn’t get what we paid for.

The location is great, and the hotel is lovely. The bathroom had a whirlpool bath and separate shower. The restaurant was shut on the day we stayed, but it looked like a really nice setting.

We were promised a large room with a terrace - an upgrade from booking.com - and the reason we opted for this hotel. We have a 1 year old son and would value the extra space, and liked the idea of having a glass of wine on the terrace knowing he was safely asleep just a few feet away. However, hotel reception told us booking.com had sold us this room falsely as there were none left. They offered us the use of another guests terrace (found this a bit bizarre?! If it had been our terrace I wouldn’t have been impressed with other guests sitting there!) which we declined because it defeated the purpose as our son would be too far away. Also, both booking.com and the hotel website continued to advertise the large room with terrace long after we had been told there were none left…can’t help but suspect the hotel just didn’t want to give us the free upgrade that booking.com promised as they knew they could sell the room for more. Further to this, I asked for a baby cot both when I made the reservation and in person at reception. By 10pm, when we arrived back from dinner, still no baby cot. I had to go and ask at reception again, and still got charged the full 20E.

The town is magical and the hotel is beautiful. The breakfast was very good. Yum, a salmon omelette. The terrace off our room was very relaxing, bed comfy and room size was huge. The tiled bathroom exquisite. I'd definitely return. Oh! The staff was very nice.

perfect location in Forest of Fontainebleau & painters' village. Old fashioned, excellent hotel. Fabulous restaurant. really helpful staff. We are were upgraded to a fabulous, vast, antique-filled room because the hotel was not busy (room 16/17)

The location in the heart of Barbizon and near the forest is great. The staff is very friendly. I especially enjoyed the (heated) swimming pool.
