The apartment is absolutely beautiful, very clean and modern with lots of nice touches - it even had nice Christmas decorations! There is lots of space with a large kitchen and large living room, nice comfortable couch for relaxing and a big tv. In the kitchen there are plenty of plates, glasses, cutlery and utensils, and very modern and easy to use cooking facilities. The bathroom is very nice, with a good shower and hot water at all times. The heating in the apartment was very easy to control and turning the radiator in the living room up just a little would warm the whole apartment in just a few minutes. We found the beds a little bit soft for our liking but the bedroom was very nice with lots of storage space. The big balcony was really nice, even in the middle of December it gets lots of sun and we were able to sit out for short periods of time to enjoy the view. It was very quiet as well, although the owners live below the apartment we very rarely heard them during the week. The location of the apartment is also excellent. Andreas very kindly collected us from the train station in Klais but we also used the local bus service to travel around to places like Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald. Be warned that the bus is quite expensive though, €5.50 per person for the 20 minute journey to Garmisch-Partenkirchen! It’s only a five minute walk to the bus stop which is in the centre of town, where there are multiple restaurants and a cafe and a bar. There is another restaurant just one minute walk from the apartment as well - you often need to book in advance! The Edeka supermarket is only a short walk from the apartment and is well stocked with everything you might need for self-catering. The surrounding area is very beautiful, with mountains in almost every direction surrounding the apartment. As well as extensive hiking trails that the area is known for, there are very nice easy walks along the Isar River and around the nearby Barmsee lake. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax, and I hope we can go back some time in the future!
