Great overnight weekend stay

We were a family of 4 staying for the weekend to ski at Feldberg. Check-in was easy, free parking in front of the hotel, good wifi connection. The room was clean and spacious to accommodate us all. It was good to have access to a ski room but a bonus to have a radiator in the room where we could hang dry our scarfs and gloves. Breakfast was excellent. Dinner was very good too.

The hotel meet all our expectations. Not the fault of the hotel but we were stuck in traffic for an hour to get to the ski slopes.

Nice quiet and spacious rooms and convenient location

The hotel was in a good location for us as we didn’t have to drive far to get to the ski lift we wanted to go to. It was convenient to have a restaurant downstairs for dinner and breakfast and the staff were very friendly. We were also close to grocery and other local eateries as well. Our room was clean, quiet, and spacious.

Black Forest experience at it's best!

Just a wonderful experience staying with Steffi (owner) and her team! She is super friendly and will go out of her way to cater to all your requests. The room was very comfortable and ultra clean. Love that it is an authentic Schwarzwaelder Landhotel, with lots of rustic, country charm. The village of Altglashutten is like out of a fairy tale. There are a couple of more luxurious hotels in the village which also deliver a true Black Forest experience, but I crave the rustic authenticity I found at Hotel Waldeck. There are exceptional hiking and mountain biking possibilities all around that you can access from the hotel's door. I just love this part of Germany, especially since the people working in these little jems of places are super nice and welcoming. And the piece-de-resistance: Florian 'S Restaurant is a near Michelin-level quasi-fine dining experience in my mind. While the theme of the menu is German country cooking, it is delivered with haute cuisine flair. And it's super tasty with unique variations on flavour that are sometimes quite unexpected (e.g. venison ragout with wild berry glace reduction: delicious!). All this under one roof! I will be back again for sure!

It was out the way from all road noise

The fact that there was no one on reception when we arrived and a letter telling us the restaurant was closed so no food available. We got turned away from every restaurant in the town so had to go lidl for some snacks to eat. This should of been on the add that there was no food available

Family run gem in the Schwarzwald with fantastic restaurant.

We spent three nights at the hotel and absolutely loved it. It is a family run Gasthouse, but was not lacking the professional management of a big hotel plus the personal touch. The breakfast was served as a buffet with a thermos can of coffee already waiting on the table. The breakfast choices were excellent from eggs, different breads, cheese, cold cuts, different cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit. Our room was spacious, clean and extremely comfortable. And I can not mention enough the friendliness and helpfulness of the owners and their family. The went way beyond the expected when we needed help with our broken down rental car. We can not thank them enough. The other thing that we absolutely have to mention is the restaurant Florian's. Make sure you eat there at least once while staying at the hotel. The food is extraordinary and creative. The location is great, an easy and short drive to the Feldberg, also the Wutach gorge and Todtnau are just a short drive away. So is Titiesee and Schluchsee. The little town has a railroad station with direct connections to the very touristy Titiesee.

Nothing, we absolutely loved everything. Once thing to be aware of, especially for older guests, is that there is no elevator. To reach the guest rooms you have to walk stairs, which was no problem at all.

Little gem

Everything is new and clean. Room was comfortable and large with beautiful balcony. The location is great: a bit outside of the village center, but plenty parking places and it takes just few minutes to walk to the centre. We also walked to the lake through the woods and it was incredible! We are so greatful to the staff for that tip 🤗 The hotel is also a great start point to go around - few minutes drive from the cable car station. We also enjoyed a trip to Titisee lake. The food is really good, both at breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed that perfectly fresh vegetables, fruit, hot just-from-oven bread (really good variety for a small hotel) and croissants. We had steaks and local beers for dinner and it was soooo good. Regards to Florian 🍻

Alles perfekt 😊tolles Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, alles war super, sehr große Auswahl beim Frühstücksbuffet und ein top Restaurant. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und werden wieder kommen. Die Lage ist auch super, ganz schnell ist man am Feldberg.

Top, wir kommen bestimmt einmal wieder in den Schwarzwald ins Hotel Waldeck.

Alles war perfekt, vom Frühstück bis zum tollen Abendessen. Die Zimmer haben eine angenehme Grösse. Die Familie Stoll und Ihr Personal sind super freundlich. Direkt vor dem Haus hat es Gratis Parkplätze, die wir natürlich dankbar nutzten.

Das Wetter! Aber da kann niemand etwas dafür. Und natürlich waren die Ferien und die tolle Zeit im Waldeck viel zu kurz.
