The apartment was comfortable, and the large windows and balcony bathed us in sunlight and fresh air. Being on a corner, the apartment offered views of both the quiet village and green forest areas in front of the hotel as well as the expanse of the river valley, castles and rolling hills in the distance. One evening we even spied an alpaca from the nearby reserve munching on some grass just across the road. The decoration of our "Leonardo da Vinci" apartment was lovingly done with flair and expertise, and the customization for the use of the space to accommodate the facilities for kitchen/bathroom and dining area was done skillfully. The historic building maintains it's age and charm, with a bright, sunny and beautiful breakfast room. The updated boutique property still feels like the chic mountain resort that it has been for many years, although it is relatively petite and intimate compared to sprawling resorts of today. The weekend breakfast offerings were plentiful and delicious. As the breakfast is served on weekends only, on Monday I ventured out on foot down into the village of Bad Salzig to find a local bakery that was recommended to me by the owner (lovely 5 minute walk), and we enjoyed our pastries and coffee in our room on our sunny balcony. Comfortable chairs with tables outside for guests (on the ground floor, both in the shade and full sun) offer another lovely seating option for lounging, eating, relaxing, etc... surrounded by flowers and beautiful landscaping.
Our hosts, the owner Jo, and the hotel staff, went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome and informed about our rooms, the hotel, the breakfast and the area. Jo paused his gardening to help us to our room upon arrival (carrying my heavy suitcase up the stairs, thankfully) and showed us the features of our room in person.
I cannot think of a thing that could have been better, except that we would have liked to stay longer.

Outside and inside look beautiful.
But, this is not a hotel anymore. No bar or restaurant. No reception. All self service. They call it an appartment hotel but room had no kitchen or fridge.

The staff was wonderful, so helpful with recommendations. The location was also very comfortable. Walking distance to supermarket and train station.
If you look at value for money it was on the expensive side of hotels. The room were small and the kitchen very small. I think their renovation will make this hotel spectacular

Lovely building and setting.
Friendly staff.
Breakfast meat (ham) was not fresh and appeared grey in colour.
Barman shut bar at 8:40 on our first night because there were not enough guests there, which I thought was very poor.

Felt like overnighting at my family house!
The hosts were so nice that we did not booked the breakfast because of misunderstanding but they provided in the morning with tons of coffee and breakfast for our kids and us.

Stunning property and location. We arrived on motorcycles and were immediately met by the owner who offered us a garage to store them. The hotel was really beautifully designed and decorated imaginatively. Dinner was delicious and the staff again were delightful.

Very friendly and helpful man on reception and running the bar.
The breakfast was excellent.
Pleasant location.
Probably the most cramped room I've ever stayed in. Everything was there and the quality was good, but not a lot of room.

Lovely hotel in a quiet neighbourhood with an excellent restaurant and very friendly and welcoming staff. Great breakfast buffet with a really nice lady on hand to cook eggs and make toast for you etc. It was not busy as we were staying mid-week. A great find for our one night stop over en route to Italy.
No issues to mention.

Upmarked confortable hotel with beautiful rooms and garden. Staff solved a problem with our room very adequate. If you have a room in the annexed building consider an upgrade in the main building, which gives you more value for money. Very nice place!
The village is a bit boring. Not what you expect form a Rhine village. But off course not to blame to the hotel!

Knowing we would be late arriving, the hotel kept in contact with us and went out of their way to ensure our stay was the best it could be. Starting from the moment we arrived, we were pleased at our choice. The food in the restaurant was excellent, the room clean and spacious and the breakfast good quality.

themed rooms - our room (Venice) had all walls painted like the lagoon city and even a street lamp
large balcony with a view, we had all diners there
nice quiet location, good starting point for hiking, supermarket close enough (10 minutes walking)
free parking on the street or reasonable 6 euros at the hotel
horrible internet
no fridge
the bathroom door would not close properly, only at second / third attempt
we received two rolls of toilet paper at the beginning of our stay (for three nights two persons) and no resupply, last day we had to be careful not to run out

The mattress was on the soft side

We really liked the view from our room.
The room was comfortable, the bathroom was tiny but it did serve its purpose.
They had a full selection of pillows, and you could choose whichever pillow suits you the best.
The staff were also very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was good , but not worth the price

An intimate place to share with close family. The staff was great- friendly and accommodating. The restaurant breakfast and dinner was elegant and beautifully prepared. This hotel is unique and special for a European holiday! They provided free tickets for our travels to Boppard town where we enjoyed climbing tower and the tram providing scenic views overlooking Rhineland.
No complaints.
