One of the best Chateau stays we have ever had

We had a delightful time staying at Candie, loved the old world charm of Chateau and its surroundings, staff were so accomodating and the morning breakfast offerings were the best we came across in our European holiday. Would also recommend the restaurant at night, as it exceeded our expectations and obvious to us the management of Candie took great delight and pride in providing their guests with an exceptional experience.

The room was perfect - especially when travelling with a dog. There were hotel grounds and nearby walks for our furry friend. The hotel restaurant was just superb.

A fantastic chateau with an enchanting atmosphere, old but young, great and helpful staff, the restaurant so great with wonderful food and staff…. The rooms were wonderful with all you need and lovely decorated…. We will be back .

A lovely hotel, but needs more lighting!

The room was really spacious and stylish, and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant team were really friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. The location was great, with excellent parking and really quiet.

There was a general lack of lighting! The bedroom was lit with only three small lamps and one spotlight above the settee, which was inadequate, given the size of the room. In addition, there was minimal lighting in the restaurant, and we had to use the torch on our mobile phone in order to have enough light to read the menu!

Beautiful junior suite with lovely bedroom and bathroom - really comfortable bed and a deep bath. Great views from the bedroom. Only bizarre thing was the €20 ikea coffee table - not in keeping with the other furniture at all.

The restaurant was a real let down. When we arrived no one showed us to our table and we had to get our own menus. Everything was in semi darkness and there was no table lamp. My husband had to go to the desk to ask someone to take our order. There was nothing wrong with the food but it was not “ gourmand”. Just a bit disappointing. Breakfast was much better.

Only nice name.

The room was dirty. There is no wifi. The staff was ignorant. The room was very dirty and the blankets and bed sheets were bloody. The food was very bad and looked very ugly. The restaurant staff was very rude.

Beautiful location on the hill top, surrounded by nature. Nice historical property, well maintained area. Good breakfast.

Lovely hotel, worthy of a stay. We will definitely return.

What a lovely hotel. The grounds are stunning, pool lovely and relaxing with an honesty bar. The restaurant in the evening was lovely, we ate there twice on the terrace. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very helpful. They were knowledgable with gluten free. We booked a suite and it was enormous. We had a wonderful two nights staying at this beautiful chateau. Its also an easy short drive to the lake which is stunning.

Breakfast wasn't great for gluten free. They did provide Gluten free bread but it was placed with the normal bread so as a celiac I couldn't eat it, due to the cross contamination risk. I did say could they place gluten free breads in a different location but the next morning it was the same.

Initial room was small, scruffy, toilet hadn't been cleaned - not even flushed ! - Pool looked good, but not enough space / beds for number of residents in Hotel. The towels were out before breakfast. yet the beds remained unoccupied

The room was beautiful, peaceful & v comfortable.

Dinner was somewhat disappointing & did not match up to the picturesque, historic property. We were expecting fine dining, but were served a meal, which we could easily have prepared at home. However, the staff in the restaurant were efficient & charming.

Set in beautiful surroundings. The ground floor room was well furnished and very comfortable. Excellent dinning room.

We stayed two nights and on both occasions ordered drinks around the pool in late afternoon - on both occasions they took over half an hour to arrive. The main restaurant was closed for refurbishment.
