As a person who has travelled throughout most of Europe and Asia, this is the most absurd and ridiculous stay I’ve ever had.
I booked a room through Agoda.com, having paid a not-so-small amount for a three night stay for me and my fiancée. Upon arrival we were told that we needed to pay additional tax for housekeeping costing €40, a deposit of €300 “in case we ruined the room”, and another additional €40 for “city tax”. On top of that we didn’t receive any receipts (we had to specifically ask for them) and the front desk’s handheld terminals declined our debit/credit cards WITHOUT ANY FURTHER INFO AS TO WHY. None of these additional fees was mentioned to us when we made the reservation and we were basically cornered by this sh*t of a hotel because we had no other place to stay hadn’t we paid this extra money. For a vacation BOOKED SIX MONTHS PRIOR! But the story doesn’t end here: when we entered the room we were surprised to find that there were no shower towels and after inquiring at the reception, we were offered TOWELS AT THE PRICE OF €6 EACH! I mean what the …. is that?! There was also not a single bar of soap or even shower gel, I mean, come on. I have never experienced such a bad welcoming. The staff could’ve done much better. So much better. All I can say is I deeply regret booking this hotel. I will never EVER visit this place again and I hope as many people read this review so they know what they’re facing. I feel sorry for thinking this whole destination was a big deal. It is a huge scam as for the money you’re paying you’re not getting even HALF of the services you’d get in Greece or Turkey, for example. This is just unacceptable.
