Adequate

Location is very central in a nice part of Chinon. The room is fairly basic, but that is to be expected at this price point. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Bad points were mainly poor cleaning. The disposable paper cup in our bathroom has shaving hair in it, luckily spotted before drinking from it. The shower leaked++ over the floor and can see that the vinyl floor is starting to lift

Very convenient place for stay

Very charming (a bit vintage) hotel, spacious and clean room with comfy bed. Good breakfast is served in the garden in the backyard in the garden. The hotel is located on front of the place used for public (free) parking. The staff is very friendly and professional. The good bar/restaurant next to the hotel. Despite my concerns regarding soundproofing (as building is quite old) it was very quiet.

The bathroom (which is very clean) looks a bit outdated and should be modernized. May be could be noisy on Thursdays - market day on the front place.

Old world charm in a brilliant central location. There was a huge market just in front of the hotel one morning.

To be avoided

The location

We will ignore the numerous errors at the start, they were more or less corrected. The hotel was however tired and dusty. We had the misfortune to see a standard room & thank goodness we had booked a superior double that was barely as good as a normal double in any other hotel, with a bathroom that was beyond it's best. Our friends had a bed that was like a board with an equally underwhelming bathroom. For the price of the rooms, 2 sachets of coffee was ridiculous (and that only after it was asked for). The reception process was flustered and disorganised. I would strongly recommend not paying for breakfast, an inflated price for a distinctly substandard offering. We now undertand why you pay on arrival ! Hopefully the renovations they are talking about will result in the rooms being worth the money that's charged, but in the meantime the pricing should be seriously reviewed downwards

Chinon town is charming

The location

The more reasonably priced rooms were very disappointing: up an outside staircase (we were offered no help with our bags) the room was small with little comfort offered apart from the bed! The breakfast room was too hot at 09.00 and the selection of food picked over and unappetizing rather than replenished @ €12.50/person the selection was poor

Nothing significant, being an older building the room layout was a bit awkward. There is free parking across the road, but it was quite busy, took a while to find a park.

great location for exploring Chinon.

The hotel was in a fabulous location and was very quaint. lovely courtyard to sit and have a drink, but could do with a little TLC. Tina was lovely and very welcoming.

Some of the rooms were a little basic and could do with updating. Not all were of the same standard even though we paid the same price.

The room,staff and location were excellent.The tea and coffee in the entrance was a nice touch as was the gardens. Thank you for the bottle of wine Even though there was a problem with the room (see below) the hotel is excellent and ideal for a stay. I’m just very disappointed

We were in room 42.I had no sleep all night due to a wurring noise.I went to reception at 7am when they opened and advised them.I was told that it was air in the air conditioning unit in the room above,my question to the owners is if you knew this why occupy room 42 why not repair the fault first.
