A pleasant stay walking distance to the sites.

Staff were very nice. Room was clean.

Fairly dated interior. Read there was parking on site but ended up street parking. Did not see anywhere to park at hotel or a parking lot.

Beautiful property!!! The location was very convenient to the Christmas markets. In addition the hotel was decorated for Christmas. The staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed.

Wonderful Christmas time

Had a wonderful time here. We arrived at check in very early due to an early flight but this was no bother, they were happy to keep our luggage while we explored the city and when we went back we had been told we had received a complementary upgrade to a junior suite and our bags were already there waiting for us! Completely unexpected but thank you for the surprise :) Room was a nice mix of traditional/classic furniture and modern bathroom done to a really good standard. Very large bed and plenty of space to relax. A well stocked mini fridge although we personally didn’t use it. Robes and slippers in the room is a lovely touch. Staff all very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was lovely - not a massive selection but a decent selection of what we wanted on offer and nice to see local produce. Bar area was never busy and the staff also seem to be doing other jobs as well as attending the bar but they are always happy to serve and attentive enough to people coming and going. The location was perfect for us - it took about 20 minutes to get from the main train station to the closest tram stop via tram C. We then walked into the city most days which is about 10 mins away - it’s far enough out to be quiet and away from the main hustle and bustle but close enough to easily walk places. The hotel was also beautifully decorated for Christmas which added to the general feel. We had an unexpected fire alarm the first evening which caused a bit of confusion as you can imagine! But was well and quickly handled by the staff and clearly doesn’t happen often/was not expected.

If I’m being super picky, a small coffee machine in the room like a nespresso for instance would be even better, especially in a suite, instant coffee just felt a little sad. But that’s me being very picky and overall i really couldn’t fault it :)

A bit disappointed that the hotel didn’t have the same Christmas spirit as the town.

We liked the Christmas decor in the hotel.

The breakfast was mediocre. The location was not as close to the main markets and town square. Staff were polite but didn’t make an effort to make the stay special.

Junior suite was a fair size but nothing special . Breakfast area was small but choice was good. Private sauna was a bonus

Very expensive for what you got - I expected more. I know the location was good but even so. Prices do drop considerably out of season. Be aware no restaurant, room service can be arranged but the app with all the details was not working!

Amazing Stay at Hôtel Régent Contades – Highly Recommended

Hôtel Régent Contades was absolutely perfect. The location couldn’t be better — right by the river, a beautiful walk from the Cathedral and all the main sights. The staff were exceptional: warm, professional, and genuinely attentive from check-in to check-out. The room was spotless, elegant, and incredibly comfortable, with great soundproofing and a very cosy atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Everything — service, comfort, location, atmosphere — was flawless. We would stay here again without hesitation.

Easy decision where to stay in Strasbourg - Hotel Regent Contades.

Very clean and spacious room with attractive decor. Excellent location within walking distance to the Cathedral. Very good breakfast too. What's not to like?!

Parking. However, in fairness, what European city doesn't have a parking challenge. There is an underground public parking facitity relatively close by.

Awful and worst hotel we have ever stayed in france.

The location was the only good thing about the hotel.

The decor was awful, carpet up the walls, stained carpet, plastic floors, dirty room, dirty bathroom, the lift is filthy, can’t use the stairs as they are blocked … so what happens in a fire?, damaged room. The view from the room was the back of an unpleasant building - damaged window sills …. too much wrong to list! The staff were unwelcoming, the quality of the hotel was very bad. There was no hospitality, it was no where near the description- no shampoo, the welcome pack stated does not exist. Overall the hotel needs a total refurbishment by people who know what is expected of a heritage hotel - there is absolutely no luxury, plastic flowers and the manager and staff need a lot of training. Cleaning staff sit on stairs and when you leave they then ask what room you are from! Having an environmental award is a joke - the brown toilet paper does not make it environmentally sustainable - it is just unpleasant. The hotel smells bad as did our room. We had to change rooms and the second room then has 2 single beds - no effort to make our stay positive. We will unfortunately remember this hotel for the wrong reasons. Getting an email welcome from Sophie was ridiculous- it is like rubbing salt into a wound! It is almost mocking the guests to provide such a poor experience and then email a welcome!

This is the hotel I would definitely choose again on my next visit to Strasbourg.

Had a wonderful stay at Hôtel Régent Contades. My room was spotless, very comfortable, with a large balcony facing the cathedral. Facilities are well kept, the bed cozy, and staff genuinely friendly. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Highly recommend!

Excellent base to explore Strasbourg which is slightly further out.

Clean and spacious. Our room had air conditioning which was much appreciated in the hot weather.

Pricey for what you het

Very friendly staff, very accommodating!

The hotel's best days seem to be behind it, the paint is peeling, my room smelled a bit of damp, the carpets are worn, the place just doesn't look in top shape. A shame, really, because staff were sooo friendly and helpful. Plus my room was tiiiiny. Not at all worth the over €200/night.

Pleasant stay at a great location

Great location and beautiful building. We could walk around the Petite France until late and found tons of restaurants and places with no problem. The staff at the hotel was very helpful with luggage and cordial. Bathroom was clean and renovated for an old building. Loved the pillows; comfortable bed. We had a balcony that couldn’t take advantage of only because it was still a bit cold outside. Great view though.

We tried to change the booking - arrive a day later and leave a day after, same number of nights. It was a simple accommodation that they refused due to lack of availability the extra night. We lost one night and when we arrived at the hotel the offered an extra night at a regular rate. Clearly the hotel wasn’t flooded by guests. Also, Room was rather small although they made the best out of the space. Parking is not available - only 2-3 spaces at €30. We chose to park elsewhere buy no garage is really close. That’s a compromise for being in a big city. Strasbourg is worth it.

A older grand hotel with a very spacious room with a balcony. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The breakfast was very good offering a wide range of options. The hotel is located within easy walking distance to the old part of Strasbourg. The parking is by valet and the gentlemen responsible was very friendly and a pleasure to meet.
