Mostly disappointing.
The location is pretty good. The tickness of the bed mattress was also great, which you dont find often in hotels.
Pretty much everything else. Despite repeatedly confirming our late-night check-in (1–3am) before arrival, we were contacted several times on the day asking again about our time and how to retrieve the key, as reception is closed at night. At 2pm I missed several calls while working, followed by an SMS from a private number asking whether we meant 2pm or 2am. When we called back, the person was rude and claimed it was unclear, despite our messages clearly stating AM. He demanded advance payment, saying he would not stay awake all night, contradicting earlier emails about receiving key-locker instructions. He insisted on sending bank details by SMS from a private number and refused to communicate via official email, becoming angry when we requested proper documentation for a business payment. Communication was difficult due to his limited Dutch, and he hung up on us mid-call. We eventually proposed checking in earlier before our evening engagement, which he accepted, but he continued accusing us of being difficult. The room smelled moldy and stale, towels were partly torn, and there was no air-conditioning remote while the room was freezing cold. The bed was comfortable, but breakfast was limited and the salami seemed dried out. Reception was again empty at checkout, and we had to ask a staff member in the corridor how to return the key. We will not be returning.

Always enjoy staying there, never had any problems.
Breakfast always good. Have stayed there most years since 2019 and it is handy for racing at Zolder.

DO NOT BOOK HERE....Especially if you are black/non white
I booked a Double Deluxe Room (24–27 Sept) via Booking.com with payment confirmed in advance. On arrival, the receptionist (who claimed to be the owner) was hostile and unprofessional. He wrongly insisted I hadn’t paid, treated me like a criminal by demanding to see deductions from my bank account, and implied I was only trying to stay with family rather than at the hotel. The room provided was dirty and appeared recently used. When I complained, I was offered only cheaper twin rooms, not the deluxe room I had booked and paid for. When I asked about the price difference, no refund was offered. Most disturbing of all, he said he only gave me a room because my partner is white and British. Both of us regarded this as blatant racial discrimination. When I asked him his name, he told me he didnt have to tell me his name, so I took a picture so as to be able to identify the member of staff I was dealing with. I felt unsafe, left immediately, and booked alternative accommodation (B&B Monroe, for the same dates, which Booking.com can confirm). I have requested a refund and expect Booking.com to resolve this matter urgently. Strongly advise avoiding this hotel. *Went on to further search online and found multiple reviews about the dishonesty

Comfortable and convenient
Breakfast was great and affordable, rooms were basic but had everything you need. The hotel is clearly old, but is a gem and very well located for travelers or Rock Werchter goers.
No complaints.

Poor
There was no towels on my bedroom. I arrived in the middle of the night and couldn't rely on the towels to take a shower. Also, they have A/C but even though it was super warm they didn't give us the remote control to turn it on.
