SOL by Meliá Torremolinos Don Marco - Adults Recommended

All staff were professional, pleasant and polite from check in to check out. The hotel was spotless, smelt amazing was clean, tidy and fresh. All amenities were well signed and easy to find.

Nothing to dislike

Breakfast and the swimming pool were great, and the service and support were great. Very convenient and right by the beach.

We requested a double bed, and we were given 2 singles even though we asked.

It was second year I stay at this hotel during my vacation. I appreciate the clean room and fresh air in room, the food ir absolutely delicious, the exterior is breath takking specially in night, magical, location in very convenient.

I am very sad that staff raised a voice on me and my friend. The guard of the hotel was screaming on us in Spanish and I do not understand Spanish and he was very aggressive and was threatening me that we will follow me in security cameras. I felt very unsecure, was not sure if I can feel secure at hotel, and I felt very disrespected as a human beeing, also I felt embarassed in front of my friend that I stay in hotel where I am treated in this very unprofessional disrespectful way. I also was wondering if its because of my sexual orientation. I am solo traveler as I am single and during vacation I wanted to meet a nice person and bring to my room. On 22nd August arround 9:00 in the morning we were entering hotel through Don Pablo entrance. At hotel entrance guard asked if me and my friend are residents and after finding out that i am but my friend was not resident, the guard started to screem on us in Spanish and even knowing that I am an existing guest of the hotel did not talk to me in English and did not address me but screemed on my friend. After a moment of uncontrolled unstructured screaming I asked to stop it, that I do not understand, and that I need to get to reception to check-in my friend. Then the guard screemed all over lobby that he will follow me in security cameras (at least that is what my friend who is Spanish speaker understood). When I reached reception of Don Marco my friend was checked-in as my second room mate for the rest of my stay only for additional 15 EUR. I dont understand why guard of the hotel screams on arriving guests, that was very dissturbing, unprofessional and is still rising questions, e.g. why guard did not talk with me in English so I can understand and can answer questions as I was existing guest ? Is it general attitude toward arriving guests that before you get to reception desk, guard will traumatise guests ? Why guard did not advise us to go to reception and check-in the arriving guest ?

Location rooms comfy and nice and cool

Pool area not very clean only on 5 day did it get cleaned. Lack of management present around pool. +16 pool rule and no jumping diving not followed, cigarette butts on pool area floor and broken loungers and ripped umbrellas. Also, the towels are a bit tired and to pay extra to refresh cheap! Speaking of, towels hanging on balconies and placing clothes lines made the resort look tacky. Some of staff were unfriendly and unhelpful bordering on rude
